The smallest Priority Mail Boxes (regular, not flat rate) are big enough for 1 carded RoC figure and a bit of packing material. That should keep it under 1 pound and your cost to ship to almost anywhere in the U.S. is $5.05 to $5.55 for priority mail. You can actually get it a little cheaper by doing it online.
Parcel Post will run about $4.90 but then you need your own box. Have you asked they buyer what they want to do? https://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/sto...WT.ac=10000248

I am going to overstep my perceived bounds as I am probably still new to all of you. For that I apologize.
It is sheer foolishness to send any item that a person wants mint on card in a bubble mailer. Of course something is going to get bent or dented. When I ship items out, all MOC items go out in a box. End of story and that needs to be listed in the auction. If the buyer does not like it, the buyer will go someplace else. The idea is to avoid headaches. A bubble mailer does not cut it. Priority boxes are free at the post office if no other box is available to you. It is not like you are pocketing an inflated shipping price. That extra money is going towards the actual service of priority boxed shipping to insure that the item received is identical to the condition of the item advertised. As far as your assessment. You owe the guy a complete refund so long as they return the item, if it is worth it to you. I do not know how much you sold the item for, but if the shipping of the figure is no longer worth it, and you stand to make nothing off of it as a loose figure then you might want to ask the buyer flat out what they want to do. No personal offense as to your character or anything, but bad judgment in this case with the bubble mailer. |

I do realise now that a bubble wrapper was not the way to go, I did indeed offer the guy a full refund if the item was shipped back, because it was not damaged, only the packaging. I also offered if he wished to keep the item that I would refund his shipping on the original purchase. As for the boxes--The closest post office here is half an hour away, instead I go to the UPS store around the corner, where I can also drop off regular USPS packages, however they charge for packaging. After this incident I will be ordering boxes on line, fyi

i got my first negative feedback yesterday because a buyer in malaysa waited 2 months to tell me he never received the package, then when i asked why he waited so long, before he replied to me, he left negative feedback.
the auction specifically said i would not ship overseas without tracking, and he assured me that he understood the risks of not paying the extra for shipping. He wanted the item that bad, and then he leaves negative feedback. if he would have contacted me as soon as he felt there may be a problem, i could have submitted an insurance claim, but after 2 months i don't keep shipping receipts, so there is nothing i could do. he never asked for a refund, he never seemed to imply there was any hostility. he just jumped the gun and gave negatove feedback without a conversation. no way he's getting a refund now. |

I wish there was some way to block any bidders that leave a certain percentage of negative / neutral feedback to sellers. Also... where is the option to block new buyers? Feedback less than 10 or something like that? |

I hope it does work out. That is a shame really about living a half hour away from a post office. It must be a pain in the ass when order's trickle in and you have to make the decision as to whether you go take the trip to the post office now or wait another day in the hopes that the buyer finally pays. I will take that into consideration when I have my little personal tirade regarding the rate at which I receive my own items. I am used to having easy access to multiple post offices where I live here in NY. I forget that not every area enjoys that.

Shrug it off... just shrug it off. I was just left a neutral for the first time in about a year. He said that the joints were loose on a transformer. I like to grade things as accurately as possible. I mean you can take a look through my comic listings and photobucket accounts that I like large detailed pictures and dead on grading. I know that the legs and especially the arms on Grimlock were stiff. The arms actually required a bit of force to be transformed. So where were the loose joints that the newbie buyer (of 9 feedback) is upset at? I can only guess that they are referring to the few swinging panel joints that were designed to be loose. They were designed to swing.

Feedback less than 10 or something like that? anything boxed, i ship in a box, anything lose, that can fit, i ship in a bubble mailer. if not, i'd never make a sale to anyone outside canada. I do my best to mark the package fragile, even have FRAGILE packing tape. knock on wood damaged goods has never been an issue, but its always on my mind, cuz even united breaks guitars. |
