Got pulled over last night, could've been bad but the cop let me go. He did say he was going to mail me some sort of citation. My question is:
Would I have to sign something when he pulled me over for him to issue any sort of citation or can he do this without my signature? |

I don't think you have to sign, if that were the case none of the traffic cameras would hold any legal ramifications...
I think you are getting are a fine, just not as bad as it could have been...

What did you get pulled for? Did he take your d/l# and tag#? If so, he was most likely on his way home and will literally send you a ticket in the mail.
Just let getting a ticket in hand, you can plead not guilty or you can pay. Then again, he may just forget to write it up. It's reasons like this that I love in the state of CT you can look up any pending court actions against yourself. Still, I wouldn't sweat it, must have been a minor offense if he didn't write the ticket there.

well he called it a gross misdemeanor i got pulled over cause my taillight was out.
what it is truly is i took someone else's car and technically i can only drive my vehicle on account that it has an ignition interlock installed which i get out next month (hopefully) If he did write me up then I'll have to do another year of this thing and no i wasnt drinking and the initial DUI I got was a .06 so dont come at me with drinking and driving garbage funny thing is I didnt have my license on me but i gave him my information. not my address though. It was my moms car and he probably ran the plates and I assumed I lived with her? Really though I think he let me off and isnt sending anything |

public records show nothing under my name
and I really think you do have to sign something because: 1. I've never gotten a ticket/arrested without having to 2. I looked it up and there are several cases where cops have stunned gunned people who wouldn't sign 3. It only makes sense its like an automatic confession so they get you right on the spot and it's proof that you were actually at the scene as far as the red light cameras go, I'm from Phoenix and there was an epidemic of people loopholing out of those darn cameras, technically since there was no witness or person who can testify to the speeding or red light running it doesnt stand in court. You just have to fight it and not give up and pay the thing like most people do Last edited by Primo_Baddest; 04-08-2010 at 03:56 PM.. |

Just curious on this. |

So how did you get a DUI if your B/A was under the state's legal limit (.08)? Furthermore how'd you get an ignition interlock if you were at .06?
And WHY would you be out in a car that you are not suppose to be in because of it NOT being the car with the interlock? Just curious on this. I never drive except last night my friend was stranded in the rain super far from his house. MY CAR the one with the interlock is inoperable at the moment, and I went and did something stupid for a friend. I took my moms car. wont happen again but I think I got lucky |

AZ has one of the toughest DUI programs anywhere, I got DUI for drunk to the slightest degree/vapors or some shenanigans. basically I got screwed.
