I have almost no arch in my foot...and it sucks.
It probably wouldnt suck as much if I didnt run, play sports, lift..be active in general..but I do. I have a custom pair of orthodics I put in my running shoes and it seems to help alot. I also don't skimp on good sneakers. Anyone have back, knee or ankle problems due to being pancake footed?? |

I'm flat footed so to compensate I engage in all sorts of depravity and debauchery ... you can say that's my religion.
Everything hurts, but what can you do? I've got stuff that I place inside my shoes as well. I always know when I havexto to replace them because I would be dead tired otherwise and feel it in my ankles and knees. Then when I get th new stuff, I feel better and lighter on my feet. |

In all seriousness I get really bad shin splints, but I'm not sure if it's a direct cause of my flat footedness

I am DONE running on pavement..done deal. I'm strictly tread mill and sometimes the track at the local college. It seems that if I take off running for a bit, when I start again the splints will be HORRIBLE...last week I didnt run, had a stomach thing going on. So the last 3 days I have just been walking on the tread mill..getting faster each day...tomorrow I'll jog and break a run...but man...it is gonna HURT. I keep getting this feeling that if I "wrap" my shins with something tight its gonna help the pain......which is probably just stupid. |

Same for me, I stopped running around the city and stuck just to the treadmill, but even that got really bad...so then I moved over to the stairmaster and that has been kicking my a$$
