Rush - I think Geddy Lee is a great bass player, but the vocals are nasaly and annoying.
KISS - I think they're great entertainers, showmen, and Gene Simmons is a master of marketing, but the music is boring as hell. Nirvana - Unfortunately, Kurt Cobain will go down in history as an innovator and genius, but Grunge is just slowed down Punk. Nickleback - Nickleback songs are like Steven Segal movies. They're all the same with different titles. The Beatles - I respect them, but I'm more of a Rolling Stones fan myself.

There are some bands where you're like "that sucks" and there's some bands that are actually painful to listen to. Rush falls in that category for me.

The Who.
Man, I tried, but I just can't do it. Them and their rock operas and story songs. Massive delusions of grandeur. Quote:
As for all the Beatles hatred here, I won't try to convince anyone otherwise. But I will say, of the Beatles' albums I'm supposed to like, I think "Sgt. Peppers" is one that is unlistenable. I appreciate it for what it is, historically and sonically, but I can't remember the last time I threw it on, though when I did, it was probably to remind myself of what a stinker it is. I can't stand the whimsy, the production style, the sheer British (no offense, fellow Tankers from across the pond) kitsch of the thing. I would also mention Nirvana. I don't hate them, but I think they have been SEVERELY overhyped by the music media. "Nevermind" deserves its rightful place in music history, and it was definitely an influence on that era, but I'm sorry, the music was too two-dimensional, and the band's career too short, for them to receive the kind of adoration that Rolling Stone and everybody else is constantly laying at their feet. Great thread, btw, Llama. Last edited by ero; 04-06-2010 at 01:00 PM.. |

The newer band that everyone seems to like but me is Panic at the Disco. I HATE them.
As far as more established bands go, I can't stand Nickleback and The Beach Boys get on my nerves too. |

Never cared for the Beatles... a couple of songs are good, but I mostly don't care for them.....mostly
I do love the Rolling Stones, though...love em. I love the Chili Peppers too!!! Anyone listen to A Simple Plan? Talk about whiny pussies. There was that song a while back where the singer is whining about his dad or some shit. I swear, I thought about hunting that guy down and letting my 3 year old daughter kick his ass.

Metal and most Country music.
Just cannot get into it- even the material that is objectively rated as being produced by talented artists. Just not my thing at all. Mind you... I listen to a LOT of different of various genre's and groups. |

Hipsters seem to be totally obsessed with Them Crooked Vultures. I don't get it. I can't stand that douche from Queens of the Stone Age.
