It's a delicate balance for the WWE-last time they did it they took a bath because of the circumstances re: the death of Chris Benoit. I do not blame them one bit for waiting on some word as to what happened before making any sort of tribute.
Either way, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Mortis-GREAT character and good lourd did WCW drop the ball on that one too Also-he wasn't the first openly gay wrestler. Pat Patterso is openly gay. |

It has always been WWE's position not to do tributes to fallen retirees. It has nothing to do with cause of death. It has to do with keeping the "show" going. If "the Rock" died today, Smack Down would never acknowledge it. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and fans. Last edited by Troynos; 04-06-2010 at 02:08 PM.. Reason: cleaning up |

I suffer from the same bi-polar, depression crap. Every freaking day is a challenge just to not take that extra pill or pull that trigger.Does that make me weak? The only thing that gets me through day by day are my kids,if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here. I actually met Chris Kanyon during a Smackdown taping about 8 or 9 years ago, he was a really nice guy and I was a fan of his since his WCW days. RIP Kanyon

Im sorry my opinion makes me "sound like an ass" but I think that its TERRIBLEY PATHETIC to bail out on lifes problems and to leave the people that care about you blaming themselves.

I loved it when Kanyon went over Raven's house in WCW.
Raven's house, was his mom's house in the suburbs, and he met Raven's sister and what not. Good times. |

I don't realy think this dude should get a tribute either necessarily. But I take issue with calling him weak. Just because someone commits suicide doesn't make them "weak." Like I said, I don't know what his deal was, but he may have been sick. My girlfriend works as a psychiatric nurse and deals with depressed and suicidal patients all the time. It's not just simply about wanting to live or die, it's a lot more complicated than that. Mental illness is a serious issue and something that cannot necessarily be controled. I just don't think there is enough information to flat out call the dude weak for killing himself. Clearly something was wrong, because the natural instict is to survive and protect oneself. I have pictures of Mortis and Wrath from a WCW Saturday night tv taping. I've got more pictures of deceased Wrestlers than I want in my collection. This is one reason I quit watching wrestling. They don't care about the perfomers once they've used them up.

Kanyon was a amazing wrestler. He could get in the ring and make his opponent look good and himself. I always thought he and DDP made a awesome Tag-team.
