Just stay friends for now. Go to college, get your life where you want it to be. Get some income, move out from your mom's roof. You might lose interest in the girl, after all, there's probably a lot of those types of creatures right around where you live
That being said, I married a gal I met on the interwebs July 4th a year ago, we'd talked over said interwebs for a couple years, I got to know her extremely well, cammed/talked on the phone, and 2 years and 2 plane trips to England later I now live happily with my Anglo-Indian babe. I'm 23 by the by. ;D |

'Sigh'...we had one phone line, so did she. If anyone in either house called someone we were both sh1t out of luck! MAN I remember those days!!!!!
Quote:
Dude I feel your pain...been there done that but without the net. In my day we communicated via that archaic device called a house phone with actually a cord attatched. I am 33 and I can you from experience that you will fall "inlove" a thousand times B4 you find the "ONE"....anways to sum it all up....THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK...not being mean, just rather tell you straight up rather blow smoke up ya arse and get ya hopes up for what could turn out to be disaster. Play the field my friend and have fun....i was 29 B4 I found the ONE and got married....in this situation its more benificial to think with your mind and not your heart...IMHO

I met a girl from Oklahoma once on xbox live. It didn't work out. Just make some friends and date people closer to you while you don't have a personal jet. Once you become rich and famous, date women from all over the world. Communication is great, but without the reality of something as simple as holding hands it wont work out.

Everyone else here has given you all the advice and more that I would have said. So I'll leave you with this nugget of observation from my life:
I've watched friends relationships and had my own (many of them) Out of everyone I knew in high school, there was only 1 couple who dated in high school and stayed together to get married (I don't know if they're still together as I lost touch) I had one younger friend who hooked up with his wife during his high school days and my brother in law met his wife during high school too. That's 6 people out of 47 that I observed through high school and afterwards (I left out a lot of people as I knew them during high school but lost touch once we graduated so I don't know if they got married or not) One firend tried a long distance relationship through the internet with two different people (at different times) and both failed Really it's a rare thing to find and marry love that young, like many others here, I got married around 30 and it wasn't to anyone I dated, let alone knew in high school. WOW... I went through that so many times dude. Especially when I was your age and in right through my mid twenties.
Girls like that are generally looking for attention. I'm not saying she doesn't mean what she says, its just that at that age she has no real clue what she is saying, about commitment or long distance relationships etc. I'm not telling you to not like her, I'm just saying feel free to ride this rollercoaster but don't expect it to be much more than that. And when you get off a rollercoaster what happens? You waited in line for an hour to ride a 30 sec adrenaline rush and you get off woozy and dizzy wondering what just happened. If you get more out of it than that awesome.. but if you don't, well at least us old dudes gave you a heads up. ***Edit I would like to say however, LD Relationships CAN Work.. I'm currently in one and have been for nearly five years... but.. the thing is we are not 17 and we do get to see each other in person at least once a year.

No long distance/internet relationships. You will be better off long-term by finding someone nearby.
