If any Tankers are in Downtown Culver City, West LA (not West Hollywood), there is a Fried Chicken place called Honey Kettle. All they have on menu is fried chicken and fried catfish, and they only have two locations this one in Culver and the other in Compton, CA. Their honey-dipped batter and the way they fry the chicken are so good - you will never want to eat at KFC again.
I will try this place. The chicken is complimented by their awesome honey biscuits - very light, but tastes as if complete made out of butter. Additionally, they have a sweet and spicy sauce that alot of places have these days, but their's, IMO, have the perfect mix and consistency. Also, can't go wrong with their coleslaw. Parking sucks though.

Actually Pats and Ginos are both trash! There are much better steak spots in the city. But if a chain type steak spot is what you are looking for, then Jim's on South street is better then Pats, Ginos, & Tony Lukes.

If you watch Man vs Food you've seen one of the best spots in all of Connecticut. Woodys hot dogs cannot be beat.
As for close to home, there's a local greek sandwich shop between work and home. H&M, they have a large (I'm talking foot and a half) boneless rib grinder. Toasty, chewy bread, smoked rib meat pulled off the bone in a sweet smoky bbq sauce. Slap on some american and cheddar cheese, onions, peppers.... ok. I know where I'm going for lunch today! Where is H&M? that sandwich sounds pretty good! For Burgers, it has to be Ted's Steamed Cheeseburgers. Best Ever! (and conveniently in walking distance from my house, lol) Last edited by misfit1015; 03-29-2010 at 12:49 PM.. |
