Not sure if this should be in the ebay thread or not, but here it goes:
I picked up a boxed Transformers Generation 1 megatron last week and last night I listed it on ebay. I started the auction at $1.00 with free shipping. When I went to bed last night the item had already bid up to $51.00 I wake up this morning to an e-mail from ebay saying that they cancelled the auction. The e-mail stated that the auction violated their firearm policy and that a toy or replica gun had to have a permanently attached orange barrel plug or tip even if the original didn't have it. Unfortunately since the auction was cancelled I haven't been able to contact any of the bidders and notify them of what happened. Does anyone know of any way around this? I don't want to have to go and try to attach something to Megs and screw it up. edit: I'm thinking about re-taking all the pictures only with megatron transformed into his robot form in each of the pictures. If I re-list I'll just state that if anyone wants pics of megatron in "his other form" to e-mail me and I will send them. But still not sure if ebay would pull the sale again since they already know that I'm listing a robot that looks like a gun. Last edited by NC Joe; 02-01-2010 at 12:34 PM.. |

I would just sell it on this forum or it's sister TF forum and not bother with Ebay...

Me too, but apparently it's the law the reproduction weapons or toy guns have to have the orange plug or barrell tip. I may just have to re-take all the pictures with megatron in robot form so that no one gets scared that I'm trying to pass of a gun as a toy.

WOW! I never thought of that being an issue. Yeah, sell on the TF forum. But finding a fair market price for it might be a little difficult without ebay listings of the same thing.

I had thought about that, but I really need to get top dollar for it. Also, I know that people on most forums are notorious for wanting something for nothing and I'd also rather have a record of the transaction in case anything goes wrong.
