Man... I just can't agree that Pearl Jam should even be mentioned in the same breath as the Beatles, or the Eagles or the Rolling Stones.
I have always like the sound and tone of Imagine, but I cannot get behind the lyrics, most of what he asks us to imagine are part and parcel of the human condition, without these things we would not be driven to aspire to anything greater. Without pain and sorrow how could we know the sweeter emotions. without property do we have freedom? Just my two cents.... |

Dunno if its been mentioned in the thread, but I never really cared for the song 'Imagine' til that episode of Quantum Leap where Sam leapt back into himself (or his brother or something) right before he went to Nam, and he played and sang that song to his sister before it was even written and it was all emotional n shit. Good stuff.
PS Looked for a vid...cant find the footage...but heres the audio from the episode |

As to the lyrics for Imagine, I'm with you Lord Norin. A perfect world would cease to be perfect if there were no imperfection to compare it to. |

Imagine people not walking out on their families to bang some art slut from Japan. It's easy if you try.
