What are some of your favorite TPB's/Graphic Novels? I just FINALLY read MAUS.....and I have to say....it was excellent. Some other favs of mine are Killing Joke, Batman Year One, and The Dark Phoenix Saga. Whats some of yours?

I dont know about closing the thread.....but you're right. I forgot about that classic Batman tale....Dark Knight Returns. I bought the 10th ANV. edition(alot more content) including Millers issue #4 darker ending! A great batman tale.

I had the pleasure of teaching Maus last year.
I recommend Walking Dead (Kirkman) among some other greats. |

Jim Steranko Nick Fury Agent of SHield TPB (original inspiration for Joes and why I think Lt. Stone is cool)
Everyone should own this one

Pretty much anything by Alan Moore is enjoyable, albeit dark but awesome.
Really enjoyed the recent The Evil Dead reimagining. That one was decent. Joker was really good, too. Red Son is hilarious. The graphic novel version of Farenheit 451 is really well done. The ongoing graphic version of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is awesome.

Revenge of the Living Monolith
great story, even better early Marc Silvestri artwork (pre X-Men) i love the scene where Captain America shows his seriousness in taking a life, when he reprimands She-Hulk for making a joke about it.. Emperor Doom Doom actually takes over the world, and realizes.... ruling the world sucks... X-Men - God Loves, Man Kills this graphic novel was actually the inspiration for the X2 plot. it has several political and philosophical implications about sanctioned racism and Morally accepted bigotry. It also has some great visuals by Brent Anderson (kinda a mix between Mignola and Sienkiewicz) Secret Wars 1: Great storylines and artworks, you see the Power of Doom, The will of Cpt. America, the origin of what will eventually become Venom, and Spiderman making the X-men look like rank amateurs! Daredevil: the Elektra saga Some of Frank Millers & Kalus Jonson's best Marvel work. From Daredevil #168-200, some great storytelling, and one of the few times a Ninja based storyline was cool to see. The Infinity Saga Especially the search for the soul Gems. Watching Thanos outsmart the elders of the universe was cool...

Dark Knight Returns, and then Kingdom Come after that. I bought Year One a few weeks ago but I have yet to read it. There was also a Hobbit graphic novel I got when I was a teenager that I really liked.
