I watch the Shuttle Launch from my front yard, every chance I get...I live in Miami, and it's in Cape Canaveral, but on a clear cloudless day or night, It's Exhaust Plume can be seen all the way from Miami...at night it's REALLY beautiful as it lights up the night sky.

Well, frankly, I've gotta say it if no one else is; the C-130 Hercules. Show me another aircraft that has been in production for over fifty years. Is configured everyway possible from gunship, to trash hauler, to flying hospital, to hurricane hunter, and everything in between. (Sorry I'm biased, worked on them in the Navy.) After that the F-4G Phantom II Wild Weasel, you've gotta have big brass balls to intentionally have someone intentionally target you with SAMs and AA guns. Then the SR-71 Blackbird and the X-29A (which the Conquest X-30 is based off of).

I like all your choices but would have to also include the AV-8B Harrier ll. The jump jet is awesome.

this, i would love to see them flying from my front yard. Another thing is people don't understand how huge they are. I build plastic models, and a 1/72 f-16 is around 5 inches,i bought a 1/72 space shuttle and its like two feet long. heres a size referance(its on a 747, my dad's a pilot and was in the air and saw a 747 in the distance with the space shuttle onboard and said it was amazing to see, he has pictures somewhere i believe)http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ima...7_nasa_big.jpg

except for the fact its an overall shit jet, handles poorly slow, has horrible death rates, can't hold much ordinance, somewhat expensive to take care of, has 4 heat signatures from the engine nozzles so it is prone to missile attacks, but other than that i say your right

I almost agree, just think that having only one engine and no redunancy for an engine failure in the vert configuration is really a bad idea. Personally have seen one where the Pilot had to eject at low altitude due to engine failure. |

A-6 Intruder. The Navy's first all-weather bomber! Could lug a huge amount of ordinance.
