Howdy all
Just wanted to introduce my self as I am new here. I haven't really kept up with the various incarnations of the G.I. Joe franchise other than the 80's figures I collected as a kid. But ever since I came across the Matt Tracker release a few years ago my interests in collecting was rekindled and I have been having a blast learning all the new stuff. I have also been into customizing figures for the past couple years mostly 6 inch or larger and mostly focused on comic and video game characters but after doing some custom Joes for some friends I must say i think I am hooked. Thanks all talk to ya soon Quote:

Hey guys, I'm new to the Tank. Prowled this site a few times & found it quite entertaining, so I have finally bit the bullet & decided to join in on the fun. I'm just around the corner from turning 30yo & have been into G.I.JOE since I got my first figure ZANDAR back in 1987 (hours of skin colour change fun). I gave away my childhood collection to my x-girlfriends 5yo son in 07' my original figures where very loved, loose limbs (some literally swinging lol!!) & paint rub galore. I thought it would be cool to give him some of the gijoe magic that I experienced as a child & it was cool to give those old joes & second life. A month or 2 later I decided to restart my collection from scratch & have been replacing/upgrading & adding new additions ever since. I'm taking my time & going for quality not quantity (& like a lot of you I'm on a limited plastic crack budget), it's been heaps of fun & would be cool to meet some fellow original arah line collectors, none of my friends are into action figures so I figured it's about time I made some new ones. I'm from Australia, so let's crack a beer & get tanked, Dreadnok style!!

Hey all -
Great to be here! I have been collecting GI Joe since I was a kid. My first Joe toy was the VAMP MK1 w/Clutch. I was fortunate to have kept all of my toys. I had toys from 1982 through the Tiger Force line. I have since been collecting again to complete my vintage wants. Thus far I have amassed a nice vintage lineup. My main areas of interest are anything pre-86(?) before they introduced the wave with Sci-Fi, Dial-Tone, etc. It just got too flashy, too fast at that point (minus the random figure here and there.) Look forward to conversing with everyone! |

Greetings all! Fresh Recruit Tigerstripe reporting for duty!
I always loved joes as a kid and spent many an hours fighting against (sometimes for) the evil forces of cobra! The past few years have seen me getting back into toy/figure collecting and as of late GI Joe has been a really big interest. The advances in sculpting, articulations, and looks have really drawn me in. I hope I can a lot from others hear and dive deeper into the fandom of GI Joe! |
