The Origin of the Term "Scalping" In the early days, when the Puritains began settling in this land, they would often trade with Native Americans for valuable resources like furs and food, or even trinkets like jewelry. The early settlers had never seen such jewels, with all the rare stones and colors, and the Native Americans realized very quickly that their jewelry was unique, and valuable to these White Folk. So, the NAs began raising the costs of their items. It got to the point where the NAs would only trade their rarer goods for something equally rare from the White people, mainly their blond hair. So, the White people would trade their blond hair, which was rare and strange to the Natives, for the NAs trinkets, and this became known as "scalping" -DrNightmare |

Very well done, I personaly see no real profit in scalping but saw this as an open view to what they do and how they justify it.

Biff runs a business, scalping is part of any business as most online stores will show. A million, I'm taking his word for it, lol.

For years I've been saying toy collectors are spoiled little girls who need people to hate because they can't come to grips with the fact that they missed out on Snake Eyes because they stopped for doughnuts first.

I say if you don't like scalpers, quit buying from them.
But that will never happen. Everybody wants to be the first kid on the block to own the City Strike Snake-Eyes, because everybody loves it, because it was in "Resolute" and that was SO much better than "Rise of Cobra," and you gotta have it now, because Steel Brigade already did a review of it at HissTank and it's just killing you that you don't have it. I've been patient with G.I.Joe since the 25th began. Everything in the line I've seen multiple times on multiple occasions. The only things I've missed out on were the 25th Eel and clear Wraith, because once again, "everybody on the boards thinks they're cool, and I gotta have it too and not just one but a whole army, and I know everybody is going to want one so I'll buy everyone I see to trade or sell." Also, I've also wondered if the "What Is The Rarest Figure" threads were started by scalpers so they know what to go buy? As long as we have enablers, we'll have scalpers and thieves. I'm not calling scalpers thieves. I'm calling the people in China who steal from the factory and sell online thieves. The people who buy from them just to have the figure first are just as bad.

On another board during Spy Troops, a few of us had a thread dedicated to sightings in our area. Everybody contributed and benefited from the thread. BUT we also figured out a scalper was monitoring our thread and buying up everything we were talking about. We moved to PM's after that. Although, around here it's not hard to figure out what the hot figure is going to be just by the responses to the first proto/promo pics we see.
