I've been trying to access it over the last couple of days, and have been unsuccessful. I was on there sometime last week, and it was fine. If anyone knows if it's down for repairs or permanently, I would like to know either way. Here's the link I used in the past:

Apparently it wasn't as legal as they said it was, simple as that.
Saw a twitter from Terry Moore a bit ago that said "what can I do about people posting my work and calling it a library" and then soon after the site went down. It shall be missed :( The 'funny' part is, the majority of the people used it the right way. Read stuff online then go and buy the trade. Or to catch up on stuff that isn't in trade form so they can pick up the new releases. So really, by trying to take it down (if they did), the creators really only hurt themselves instead of helping.

If you could prove the first part, then I might buy this. As it is, no way.

I'm still wondering why it wasn't "protected" (so to speak) like a library would be.
Both allowed people to "check out" the work for free. Both had only one original purchaser (library: whoever bought the copy, site: whoever bought the one to scan). A real library you could actually scan the work at home if you so wanted. The site you couldn't save the images. (plus for the site, negative for the library) Oh well, no big deal either way for me. And I have yet to see people in this thread over at the Pryde. GET MOVING!!

So is there anywhere else I could view the back catalogue of Joe comics online for free? Or is that incredibly naive of me?
Problem is, I've been trying to compile a thorough list of all the characters that have appeared in the various conceptions of the Joeverse since the original '60's figures. This throws a wrench into the works.

Comics these days are expensive. I will be reading the new Joe series starting at #156, but that is it. I was planning on browsing that site to see if there were any other books out there i might be interested in... Not any more... BTW, i was able to download comics from that site... I won't post the methods, but this might actually be why they took it down... |

Since most of the GI Joe run is out of print, and Hasbro doesn't make money on resale of the used comics, it would be nice if they would let us view the ones that aren't available to purchase. For example, everything after the trade paperbacks that are out. Or just release the rest quickly. I am missing maybe 30 or so comics after #87, so I can't catch up before #156 starts? Seems short-sighted to me, setting up the failure of the new comic since the others have been unavailable for cover price purchase for so long.
