Ok.. First, I'm not a mech fan. I dug the classic re-release of the Wave II Target exclusives, the snake armor is a bit lame but cool to see back again, but I just got a mech from Avatar and have the two next to each other on a shelf. It's not even fair.
That mech is bad@$$, a great all around win of a toy. Piloted by an Elite Viper, and with a new Cobra sticker app, it is a prime MARS Industries killing machine. Your vote- storyline and the obvious 'used for brainwashed joes' sidebar aside, which armor is better?

The SNAKE armor is so sadly dated, i just can't stand it. The Joe Mech from VvV isn't bad per se, but it could stand to have better articulation. I haven't had the opportunity to get one of the AMP suits, but im not loving the legs on the thing. The scary thing is, they had a Joe Scale Matrix Mecha from the last movie that was so sweet! but i didn't get it when i had the chance and i'm not sure of its availability now.

I have the Target Exclusive SNAKE Armor, the Joe Con Iron Mech, and I just picked up an Avatar Mech. There's no comparison, but I like each for different reasons.
The SNAKE armor is pure nostalgia. It doesn't measure up to the other two, but it's not supposed to. It's the mind control device that forced Snake Eyes and Kwinn to attack Joe headquarters and will always be cool for that. The Iron Mech is just the topper to an awesome Iron Grenadier convention set. I love it and use it with my 25th Joes now. The Avatar mech is cool, and will soon be repainted to better match the Iron Mech as a modernized version of that piece. It even includes a sword like all good Iron Grenadiers.

The Snake Armor looks probably more believable, alteast for something that goes into hazardous contaminated zones or underwater. The Mech suits are interesting thanks to Starship Troopers, but really not very plausible or ideal for combat. Robotech and later Exo-Squad really popularized it(not to mention Mechwarrior).
All fun toys though. |

I vote for Avatar AMP Suit Mech. I'm so glad that the initial speculation that it was too small for actual joe figures was partially inaccurate.

I like the Spytroops Mech because it's a bit bigger than the others and has more features.

Still need to find a Spytroops / VvV mech, or a convention exclusive repaint... Saw the non-convention mech's in stores & displays at TRU, but never actually owned one.
That Avatar mech is straight win... Will have to keep an eye out for the Matrix mech now, I'm not a mech fan, but this Avatar AMP suit is solid.

Mattel has an Outlet? Does Hasbro have one too?
