My best friend seems to be so negative these days. We see the summer blockbusters midnight opening, he comes out disappointed (Wolverine, Transformers, GI Joe). We wait in line for this unique taco truck in So Cal, hes all annoyed at the long wait/ or the location. We goto Comic con, he was a former comic book fan in the 90s, wasn't excited at the thought of going, but just likes the atmosphere in the end.

To be fair, Wolverine, Transformers and Rise of COBRA?
My college roommate was like this. He hated everyone and everything. But he was a clever complainer. Listening to the radio with him was pure comedy.

Meh. Everyone is negative.
I only surround myself with positive people. That way I can be as evil as I want! Ha ha ha ha ha! But even if I don't like a movie, I can appreciate all the effort and sacrifice that went into producing it. |

Collectively it has to do with the myriad of financial problems we are all experiencing. Even the rich are feeling the pinch, not anything you or I would take seriously, but now they can't buy that extra house in the south of France they had their eye on. People were struggling with gas prices, some are struggling to eat, I live in California, and many essential budget cuts were made, so that's certainly stirred up a few people. We're on the brink of a new age and most can't make heads or tails out of it. People keep dying from cancer, good men and women keep dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. People are angry, it's understandable. I work in restaurant, and I'll tell you people are becoming increasingly nastier and tipping wayyyy less. That's the public.
Now personally, I feel I must respond because this question strikes a nerve with me personally, as I get older I get more and more cynical and less open to things. I have a solid group of friends I hang with, but live with my mom. Long story, she had lung cancer I moved her in with me to take care of her, she technically has been 2 years out, but if any of you ever knew someone with cancer there's a 5 year rule. Film wise negativity, for me? Well, movies are getting more expensive to see, and Hollywood is making more movies but with less quality. I'm sorry but 11 dollars and 2 hours of my time is kinda important to me, so the movie better damn well be worth it. Star Trek, Term/Salv, worth it. Trans 2, Wolverine, ROC, not so worth it. I hold em to a higher standard. I've tried almost all the new fall tv, Flashfoward has almost held my interest. It's Always Sunny is still sharp, but I feel it may be loosing it's luster. Negativity, on life, well people keep getting married, . . . only to eventually get divorced, and keep having kids, . . . to eventually let them be dragged up. (This is not a personal attack on anyone. This is my general feeling, which means it's not fact.) Things in society are slipping. I try to do a good deed here and there, to feel human again. It's all I can do. Everyone has coping mechanisms, but sometimes coping just isn't enough, you want to evolve. . . I hope that I offered you a little insight. P.S. Once again my opinion is not an attack on any one specific person, please don't pm me with hateful comments, it won't change anything. And if some of what I said sounds a little political it wasn't my intention, it is just some reasons to answer the question at hand. |

Sex is good, but it's not the loosener upper everyone thinks it is. I used to have sex once a day, take vicoden, and drink non stop, and I still had a poor outlook on things. If someone walks around hating things, they think a bender in Vegas is all that's needed, to get out of that funk. Why? The problems in that persons life and the world will still be there when you come home.
Some of my friends think weed is the answer too, these are only placebo's to stultify the real problems. IDK specifically what the actual answer is, but something has got to give. |
