*Zombie Apocalypse!*
--THE FIRST 48 HOURS-- Scenario: This is no outbreak, the end IS here and the world is folding. It’s TEN in the morning and you are at work, going through your normal routine. A coworker calls your name from across the room beckoning you to look at their iphone. On the screen are live images of New York City; the reporter is screaming something as she is running down the street about maniacs committing mass murder and cannibalism. You run to the break room and turn on the TV. The local news is reporting isolated incidents of the same nature dotting locations around your area. Officials from your local government are urging all residents to stay where they are until the situation is brought under control, whether that is in private residences or places of business. You look outside the window of your place of employment and already you can see that the situation is spreading. You witness a group of gored individuals chase and bring down a UPS driver across the street from your building, causing a traffic accident. One of the maniacs is mowed down by a pickup truck and you watch in horror as it is sliced in half. To your astonishment, you see the upper torso of the beast continue on, joining the others in their attack on the driver. In horror you watch as they begin to consume their victim. It is clear to you that this is a desperate situation—life and death for you and yours. Now is the time to act! What do you do—specifically—what do YOU do? Instructions: Give a detailed account of your doings in the initial phase of the Zombie Apocalypse. Things to keep in mind: 1) Remember you only have the ability to carry so much. Are you on foot or do you risk taking an automobile? 2) Think about where you’d go and whom you’d be looking to reunite with. 3) Remember, zombies aren’t the only enemies and obstacles out there. Police barricades, looters, criminals and your endangered fellow man are out there as well. 4) Think about the specific geography of your area, what impedes or quickens your route to your ultimate destination? Rules: 1) Only the first 48 hours of the apocalypse may be discussed. 2) Think about what you have with you typically at work, in your car and on your person. These are the items that you will have available as you start your response to the nightmare situation at hand. If you don’t typically have an item with you or available as described—it’s off limits. 3) Same goes for your home. If it doesn’t exist in your specific home—its off limits. Now, if you want to risk a trip to the home depot or into your neighbor’s yard to get some plywood or other supplies, that’s up to you. 4) Same goes for weapons. If all you have in your real life is a lousy spork, then that’s all you’ve got. If you are a gun enthusiast or a concealed and carry permit holder: good for you! You have an advantage. 5) Keep it “realistic,” there’s no, “I walk down the street and there’s a Hummer filled with machine guns, ammunition, body armor and a 14 day supply of food.” HAVE FUN! *

It would depend on whether it's a magical zombie infection or a medical one. Like, is it a virus? In that case, I'd probably have to hole myself up somewhere so I don't catch this zombie-flu in-case it's airborne.
If it's magical where you can only be infected if they touch you, then I'd be more active. Grab a machete, some cans of bug-spray and lighters until I can find some better weapons. |

I would grab every knife I have (I work at a Chinese restaurant) and Ginsu chop some f@%#in' zombies! I would have enough food to last me a long time- though I might get sick of Chinese food after a while.
I always thought Wal-Mart would be a good place to hole up in a zombie outbreak. Guns, food, toys, except if there were any regular Wal-Mart shoppers in there, I'd rather take my chances outside with the zombies. |

Are these fast moving zombies like 28 Days Later or the more common shuffling/stutter step type zombie.
I only ask because it matters as to how I act. |

Good question: slow to medium movement. Not running Zombies, but you will definitely need to keep on your toes.
