I feel your pain-
Earlier this year my second wife and I decided to separate after two solid years of battling it out constantly, making me leave behind our two four year old twin boys w/ her :( and then taking on $1400 a mo in child support, I was forced to move back in w/ my parents at 37 years of age, we have since decided to divorce and last but not least, this past Tues I got fired from a job I had been at for over 2 1/2 years. :( F*cked does not BEGIN to describe how I feel at this point. :( We are also probably going to loose our home (my wife and I's, not my parent's) and I will more than likely be forced into bankruptcy. :( So it ain't just you brother, things are tough all over for 'Tankers these days. I just do the best to care for my boys and be the best father I can. I figure the rest will either work it's self out of take care of it's self. Oh, and a woman I got in a car accident four years ago decided earlier this year to finally sue me. Joke is on her, between my soon to be second ex-wife and the bank, there will not be ANYTHING left for her to get except a pile of GI Joes and my soul! Hahahahahaha! HTH, it ain't just you brother.

Keep your Head Up.. At least you still have your health and family. As long as you have that you can't be stopped. You will find another opportunity. Atleast you haven't given up completely and you're still looking for work. Most people in your shoes would be taking the unemployment and living off the system happily.

I have nothing but respect for you man. I have read your posts and you always come across as intelligent and sound. Look we have all been there but I have to ask you... what the hell are you still buying GI JOE's and spending your days on Toy Forums?
After losing a job that meant so much to you and provided for your family you think you would understand the meaning of banking money yet you are still buying Toys? Not to mention you post on Hisstank all day long. All I am saying is that you better get your priorities in order before you lose everything........ and to be honest my man it sounds like you are already on that path. I don't understand how you can expect to better your life if you do not be proactive. There is nothing wrong with posting on Hisstank all day long....... Hell I do it but it does not interfere with my work......not at all. So you can take this post as I am being an ass and I apologize for that....... that is not my intent or that I am not going to coddle you and act like you are doing the right thing when clearly you are not. Either way take care and I hope your luck turns around. Keep your head up and it will happen for you. Just make sure that you have your priorities straight. My brother in law is a master mechanic for BMW in Orlando. He has a lot of pull, maybe I can pass on your information or resume if you would like. You never know? keep at it bro
in June 2007 2 years outta school I finally got a job in my field, but it meant finally striking out on my own and moving north an hour. I was told they were hiring a few positions which were 6-month contracts but mine would be classified as a summer position until Sept. and then it would be reclassified as full time. Sept. hit and no change was made but I was assured I'd be fine. Applied for another position within the company which was guaranteed full time and benefits. One day in October I was asked to come in early for a meeting, upon seeing 2 of my friends I assumed the three of us got the open positions.. we get in there and we are then told that we are being let go b/c the company misprojected the cost of one of their projects (IPTV basically tv over the internet service) by hundreds of millions so they closed down that dept. and shifted all the ppl into other spots... I actually asked my boss "is this a joke" not believe it.. how wrong I was... I spent the next few months very despressed b/c I didnt know where I was going to go.. no one was hiring I was into a lease for my apt. and I had no income.. Then I heard through my old boss to contact a guy at another broadcasting company. I got an interview a month or 2 later and started as a casual part time worked in Jan. 08 within 5 months I was full time. The point Im trying to make is that you have to keep at it although I was hugely despressed I was constantly applying anywhere I could b/c I refused to go back to a call center or McDs. If you get an interview and u nail it make sure you have their number and if they dont call you when they say they will call em the next day. Make em know that you want the job and ur the man for it! I wish you all the best man! its a cruel cruel world out there, just gotta take it head on with a lightsaber at ur side! lol

my brother, I am very sorry I know this really sucks, i've been through it...fairly recent in fact. but trust me, just hang on and keep putting yourself out there, something good will come along.
every time i've had something like this happen, i've been pissed, hurt, and all that goes with it, but afterward.... looking back on all of those 'opportunities', i always seem to understand why it wasn't such a perfect fit for me...I would have never been happy or satisfied with that. so to keep it light, hold your head up brother, you're a good man! keep your eyes and mind open and you'll see your way through it!

You are in a funk.......... I have been there trust me my brother I have been there but I did not turn to toys.....my distraction was much worst and I lost everything at the time. I just don't want to sugar-coat it for you. Keeping it as real as its going to be. You seem to be a good guy and I would hate to see anyone let alone another Tanker make the same mistake I made. The positive thing is that even though I hit rock bottom......... I climbed my ass out of the hole and I am doing better than ever......even in this economy. So you will do it..... good luck.

There's always the "pack up and move" option to find a job elsewhere that you wanna do.

Things will get better. Keep an eye out for that perfect job. It'll come. You may have to take something else in the meantime, but always keep your search up. It sounds like you've had a pretty rough time. But keep your head high, your eye on the goal, and your faith in the lord. All is possible through him.

I hope you get something soon.
My father gave me some valuable advice years ago. He said that when you're not working, your full-time job 40 hours a week is looking for work, and you rest in the evenings and on weekends. |
