Anyone reading anything particularly good right now?

I am about 200 pages into a 800 page novel called Drood by Dan Simmons. It's a fictional account about the famous writer Charles Dickens and his encounter with the mysterious, phantomlike title character. IT might sound like a boring read, but the writrer does a great job pulling you into the story and keeping your interest. Dan Simmons also wrote The Terror which was very good too.

Anyone else reading anything noteworthy?

Id say anyone that says they are reading anything besides this post and their reply at the time of responding is a liar.

Dan Simmons is one of my favorite authors. Have you read Illium / Olympos or the Hyperion series? I'm thinking of rereading Illium and Olympos.

I am currently reading ancient egyptian myths and legends by spence. as for a recommendation though, i suggest procurring the entire eternal champion series by michael moorcock. Dancers at the end of time or von beck as well as the elric saga stand out, but get all 8 miilion books in the series. COBRA!

Not yet. They are on my list of things to eventually read. If they are 1/2 as good as The Terror was I am sure to like them.
