I sure do, as well as the Nintendo Breakfast System and a particularly horrible ET cereal.

Stars, right. I can't remember if they tasted like Honeycombs or Cap'N Crunch. |

I'm more salty than sweet. One of the best things I've ever bought is my Whirlypop popcorn maker.

Generally savory all day. Not much of a chip guy unless we're talking plain ol' tortilla chips, but I'm a HUGE fan of tree nuts, especially almonds and walnuts. However, that being said, chocolate is my weakness, and don't get me anywhere near anything that says "Reese's" on it. Following Mordred's missing of items that are hard to come by on his side of the pond, I miss ACTUAL Smarties and pre-Hershey's Cadbury.

Fried/Scrambled in the same pan that I just made bacon in (most of the grease cleaned out first but a little left in as seasoning), on a slice of toast with bacon, slathered in tabasco scorpion sauce, with a super-hot cup of coffee.
Simple Action stars! I had a box at some point. I don't remember them being anything special. I do not remember Action Stars at all. Great to see another PA tri-state area guy. I think there are quite a few of us on here. |

What brings us together the most other than our love of nerd stuff? Food. I think I was a food guy long before the term "foodie" was coined or it became cool/adventurous to eat ethnic food. My idea for this thread is for me or anyone to pose a question about what/how/why/when we eat what we do and hopefully there's a discussion before the next question.
To start things off it'll be a simple one: How do you like your eggs? I love eggs in all forms but I prefer them either over medium or scrambled. Though I'll eat them in any way, the styles I order or make the least are boiled in any way including poached. I love deviled eggs but I've never made them for myself. Back when I used to work out a lot I would throw a raw egg into a protein shake. I am not counting omelets because it's all about the egg for this question. I do love hardboiled but they have to be done right (not overcooked/hard to peel). Also prefer free range or omega eggs but I still eat regular ones too. Large or X-Large size too. Egg whites are great for shakes because they are usually pasteurized but I like your style. Go raw or go home. Egg whites are great for French toast too mixed with a scoop of protein powder. Top off with berries and Greek yoghurt. Deviled are good but I do not make them either. Love grungy bars that serve them and beef jerky next to the till lol. Corner stores too. Edit: do not eat sweets hardly at all. Dark chocolate now and then. Eat nuts and popcorn but not much butter. Protein bars are my sweet. As a real treat which is rare I do like Ben & Jerry’s. Anything chocolate/peanut butter; but as you said: throw another shrimp on the barbie. I do like fruit. If it is not in a shake; a crisp apple goes hard. Next one for the players, do you like spicy food?
For me: Hell yes. I put some kind of hot sauce on just about everything I eat. Different types of sauces for different types of food, I got Asian sauces, Latin sauces, boutique craft sauces, and common Siracha and Tabasco style (except the knockoff one in the pic because there's a shortage apparently) sauces. The tiny one in the front was bought as a gag, it's just heat no flavor. It tastes like shit and I swear the ingredient label is a lie because supposedly it is just habaneros, which I eat regularly in other sauces as the main ingredient. But with Da Bomb, there is no way just habaneros can be that hot. No way. |
