I got to see and talk to my son. Every time I see him or hear him those are the best times of my life.

My sons grew up surrounded with all things G.I. Joe, and enjoyed attending conventions and toy shows with me, but had to miss a few conventions during some years that we lived in Germany. They each had their favorite characters, and my youngest son liked Cross-Country.
When news came that Cross-Country voice actor Michael McConnohie would be a guest at the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention in Dallas, we knew that we had to attend that convention, despite the many miles. My youngest son, then only eight years old, would eagerly anticipate meeting Mr. McConnohie and tell me that he intended to request hearing a Rebel Yell done in Cross-Country's voice, something that I don't remember hearing in any Sunbow episode. We did attend, and when the hall opened for autographs, we lined up to meet the voice of Cross-Country. Some fans in line ahead of us were already requesting of Mr. McConnohie to deliver a few lines of voice samples, but he was explaining that the voice actors were saving their voices for a scheduled panel event later on. I knew then that my son would just have to wait until later for that panel to happen. When it was our turn, my son introduced himself and shared his love for that particular character with Mr. McConnohie, followed by his request for a Rebel Yell. To my surprise, what followed next was a rebel yell so loud I nearly jumped out of my skin, followed by a long and loud battle cry of Yo Joe! It startled many in the convention hall, and a uniformed police officer working there as security for the event came running inside thinking all hell had broken loose, only to discover it was a voice actor doing a convincing job of making it sound like a fight was starting. Several fans pulled out their phones and requested that Mr. McConnohie do it again, so that they could record that, but he declined, and said he would have to save his voice. I was amazed he didn't completely loose his voice after that demonstration but was so appreciative of his efforts and so very happy for my son to have his wish come true.

Getting 1st in the FrankenJoe contest in 2015. Aaand, hanging around in person with the crazy crew I had known online for years; they did NOT disappoint in 2013, nor 2015-2018.

I've only been to a single convention (it's just not my thing) in 1996. My Dad knew I liked comics and took me. I was already an adult, but I enjoyed spending time with him (still do). Got some good stuff while I was there... mint copies of Amazing Spider-Man #238 (first Hobgoblin) and #300 (first Venom) and got them both signed by John Romita Sr. and Todd McFarlane, respectively. Also had Todd sign a copy of Spawn #1. Other artists I got autographs from included Bill Tucci, Adam Hughes, Joe Madureira, Tim Townsend, Jimmy Palmiotti, Dick Giordano, and George Perez (among others).
We got there right when the doors opened, so there weren't alot of people yet and I was the first in line to get Romita's auto, so he offered to do a quick head drawing for me, of which I chose Venom, so I still have that, as well.

Only Joe Con I ever attended was 2012 in New Orleans. It was only a couple hours away and featured the Oktober Guard sets, so I had to go. Plus, the family likes New Orleans, so win-win.
Marauder Gun Runners was there and my family sat at a table with Marauder John and his family for the Joe Con dinner. I knew right from the start the stuff I read on here was on point and have enjoyed supporting his company through various kickstarters and other purchases. Having three kids aged 4 to 13 worked out because they each got a parachute drop figure and they all let Dad have them. I gave them the option of course. I still want those zombie versions of Joes and Cobras in the Hasbro case. And that GI Joe Renegades Coyote.

Any type of con? SDCC. Was seated in a room for a panel on Return to House on Haunted Hill, and sat with arm's reach of Amanda Righetti. To this day, she is among the most beautiful women I've ever seen. And I happened to love the "gimmick" of the film's blu-ray.
