Anyone went trough such a thing before?
Seems like Paypal is becoming a shitty company to say the least. They say I violated their policies but I don't see anything illegal there. To me this sounds like "you're not a profitable customer to us anymore". This is by far the worst they've done but I run into issues with them before which I will list: 1. Did not give me reason on a dispute, eventually I escalated via FB chat and this would have been solved. Someone from Ireland even called me to apologize. 2. Changing the way exchange rates are handled. I have a card which doesn't charge exchange rates when i buy in another currency. This was something you had to configure on your paypal. Sometime after I did it they changed the settings and all was back to default meaning paypal currency exchange was used and not my card. I complained about this and they even gave me the difference but just shows how tricky they are. 3. Recently they ended the free returns program they had in place. Basically in Europe you could buy any item pay with paypal and get returns for free. These returns were supported by paypal not the shop. I guess too much online ordering and market ownership lead to this. No point in giving this as a benefit to stores if they own the entire market. 4. Now this suspension, I searched online and found some reports of people in the same situation. Some managed to get their account restored, others never managed. Regardless none ever understood why and when they violated the policies. Regarding 4. that's why I say that all of this sounds more like "we don't want you as a customer". And if you look at my history maybe there is some explanation there. Before I got revolut I was using paypal exchange rates every now and then when paying in other currencies. I used to buy a lot of stuff from ebay US which is not the case for some years now. Also when I was selling I was using ebay.com and paypal to receive payments. This meant fees for their side. Since I moved to UK I started selling things on ebay.co.uk which changed their approach towards paypal. Payments are issued to you by ebay to your account and not to your paypal account. I guess this means less fees they collect. Users can still pay with paypal but payment is done directly to ebay. So in short after a few calls, emails and message I have little hope that my account will be restored. I will not be opening a new one. I just want my 33? that i had in my account. I'm glad I didn't have more. I also find incredible how paypal is allowed to operate in Europe under these terms. I mean they can freeze your money, keep your financial details without a court order??? what kind of world is this? I don't see much difference between this and a dictatorship government. I'm at least glad I'm getting out of service/company that is run in a "dictatorship style.

Same thing happened to me 2 days ago. I've spent about 8 hours in vain dealing with rude, hostile customer service. I've had paypal since 05 without any claims against me. They're holding almost 750$ in my account for 6 months and only explanation is some of my products or services violated terms of use. I sell Joe heads. Not seeing a violation there. I had to close my store until I can figure out another payment option.

Wow, wtf? I don't use Paypal much these days (just Paypal Credit for purchases over $99 so I get the 6mos interest-free), so I don't think I have anything to worry about, but still gotta wonder what their game is here. I wonder if they've overextended and are "trimming".

Ebay and by extension, Paypal, are trash companies that conduct business in a way that I think borders on fraud at times. Best avoided if possible.

Were you selling through paypal and using the "Friends & family" method to avoid paying fees? Could this be the reason?
I'm not accusing anyone, just trouble shooting.

Agreed, even if by the very nature of my collection I have no real choice but to use eBay. For better or worse they've dropped PayPal though, so I use them FAR less than I used to.

Disagree here Ax. I've made a lot of money on ebay, and picked up a lot of great items over the years. They're not perfect, but far from trash.

Ive been using eBay since 2003 and they have always been great to me as buyer and seller, several years ago my ebay account was hacked and ebay caught it, called and emailed me, saying they noticed unusual listing, they shut that down, blocked the hacker, withing a few hours my account was safe and usable again.
My only real complaint with ebay and its really not their fault is the tax issues, for the longest time, a person could sell of ebay and not claim taxes up to $20,000 now the tax code changed and a seller has to report sales over $600, which is a massive change, ebay claims they are more an online garage sale, which to a certain extent is true, you look and you will see people selling used shirts and knick knacks, but also you see hasbro selling as well, so i only sell to feed my collecting habit, i dont sell to make a profit, but to buy things i collect. But overall, my experience has been great with ebay.

If only they would refer the exact transaction that would be better to understand. Anyways new message came in a few hours ago. Same shit as before... not sure if this was the answer to the review request placed in the morning or something else. I will not waist more time with it. Go ahead close it if you want. Really disgusting company, but I'm spreading this all over, hope they enjoy the advertisement.

Nope my sales were all done in the last months via ebay. I'm a casual seller. I don't own a store. I can imagine the frustration of people that rely on this and have a considerable amount of money there which is normal if you run a store or small business out of it. I'm not saying that I didn't do that in the past but not frequently, maybe a few times but I checked my activity in the last months and I don't see anything illegal or like that. I may have send payments as- friends at the request of the seller or the hire since I've payed a guys a few times this year for 3D model commissions.
