Jokes on Hasbro, they priced me out being their customer a few years ago on all their 6 inch lines, and with out 4 inch Joes I have no desire to even save up and grab an occasional figure anymore.

I've moved on to grabbing the occasional toy from competitors at a way lower price for my shelves.

Now if only the diehard got to have it all Marvel and Star Wars collectors would stop buying Hasbro might go back to making toys kids can afford again. $40 bucks for a 6 inch Marvel Legend is insane you can import a higher quality Figma version of the character from Japan for that.

When Marvel legends hit $20 bucks years ago I dropped that line, and since the 4 inch Joes were pulled from stores I've gone from spending most of my disposable figure income on Hasbro products from 2000-2018 to buying Mattel, Jazzwares, Spinmasters, and even Dollar Tree now. I'd rather support lines priced fairly than Hasbro's greedy stockholders.

so, short of sharing a ton of links because im supposed to be working -

we (dnd fans) won. hasbro took back their bullshit, kept the original ogl and made something else pretty great in perpetuity. sure, come dnd 6e comes around they'll fuck it up. 5e is the best since 2e so if i ever play it'll be from 5e system.

it's too bad that on the TOY AND ACTION FIGURE SIDE people are still desperately needing their fix; so prices will continue to rise and quality/value will continue to drop.

yeah no one really believes them and have already jumped ship. hasbro really fucked itself over with this nonsense they didnt even have to touch. in fact it looks like they have a worse deal for them before they started - with the in perpetuity thing that's not the ogl. like i said, even if they bone it later, this stuff all applies to 5e and that's what i play, so i'm fine sticking with that.


im not even going to pretend to understand the business stuff, but if it means ceo dickhead is floating his golden parachute out of hasbro, i'll be fine with it. i just hope there's a big ol hole in it so he falls and gets himself maimed pretty good and never finds a job he can fail up to ever again.
