Right, a bump is a bump.
Wedge you wrote a MTF novel too?? We should be discussing it here to keep the thread in the recents and Overlord has a great idea too. I?m gonna check out more.

A fellow HT'er has worked many thankless hours to create something that users here would probably enjoy and any word of it has turned into a bot magnet.
Would've been a cool front page item (maybe even a "toe" toward getting his foot in the door to pitch a Joe idea to Hasbro or a comics' publisher). Check out that cover art! https://www.amazon.com/Action-Force-...ransformers-20 |

Thanks, guys. I have been lucky to have done some stories for some really cool toy lines, and I have been even luckier that the people who picked them up tended to really like them.

I’m interested. So the GI Joe stories that disappeared from Amazon, is there any way to get them anymore? I missed that opportunity.

I have been very lucky in that I have gotten to work professionally with Jim on several occasions.
The first was after the figure voting contest, and it was his idea. He proposed that we (him, me, Justin Bell, Troy Osgood) write a series of interconnected stories about our four characters. The fun was that we had to do it a month after the previous one was published and that we were not given any forewarning as to what was to come. I was second (my stories taking place in the early eighties after his Adventure Team era) and had a month to complete my novella after ordering and reading his. All four stories were published under the banner G.I. Joe: Legacy. After that, Justin and I helped him edit The Joy of Joe (though that was truly his baby), and I credited him (and Justin) with helping me with The Joy of JoeCon. I edited one of his stories in his first D.C. Jones compilation. I love Jim, who is immensely talented and a great person. Quote:
Jim republished his stuff under the brilliantly inspired name D.C. Jones. At times, I think about asking him for permission to use the name and do the same. It would save the stories for historical reasons, get them back out there, and allow me to have physical copies on my shelves. I go back and forth. On the one hand, I like the benefits listed above. On the other, I?m not sure I want to release a bastardized version of my work with names like Hunter and Red instead of Stalker and Scarlett. I mean, everyone would know who they are, but?. Would you purchase such a thing if the stories were intact but the D.C. Jones team had to defeat the Serpent? |

Would you advise me to rerelease my novels with the names of characters changed?

Does the content of your story rely on the names of the characters? And, what permissions would you need to have if you did not change character names? Is there an actual possibility that the works could be released as "unauthorized" Joe titles? EDIT. If Hasbro's copyrights on code names is no longer valid, what risks are there for you? (Asking, is all.) |
