I don't feel like I belong anywhere either. Even been told I don't belong anywhere. Don't even feel like I belong on HissTank with everyone hating my posts, but I love the LNC!

Thanks for the comments, suggestions, and a little ball-busting. The last couple days have been better and I think I've been a little more positive overall. That's one of my goals regardless of the setting.
I'm sure everyone feels out of place sometimes no matter what the situation. It's too easy to see the dark side of things instead of appreciating the bright side that mostly overshadows it. I'm sure something in my life "triggered" that. I hope everyone's having a good week so far. We've made it over the hump. This weekend I plan on doing some purging and setting up my first 1:12 display. Then officially planning the trip dates. Maybe a 17 hour flight will be fun? *17 hour veterans, don't answer that* |

I've never felt like I belonged. Elementary school, high school, as an adult.
After school events, socializing with friends in my 20s. I'm pretty sure no one has ever got me or even wanted to. My fantasy life is to go off into the wilderness and live as a hermit. Never communicate with any other human again. Maybe have a few pet wolves or something because animals always seemed to understand me. Yeah, it's that day. |

You?re not alone by far and it?s definitely not odd to feel that way. I didn?t always feel like that but have completely lost faith in society over the last few years. I?m not going into specifics to avoid any openings for political discussion but I feel the same way. My home town of NYC has always had a reputation as being rude but that was only to slow and unaware tourists. But now, even as a life long 3rd generation New Yorker I can?t imagine living another day in what has become of this city and more importantly my old neighborhood. I?ve been selling off a lot of my various collections, and started a home based business as a side hassle to throw as much money as I possibly can at the market while it?s down. Solo 401ks are amazing. And I?ve maxed out all of my other retirement plans and iras. I?ve been spending hours each night looking as real estate in remote areas of the country because I?m just so disappointed at what has become of our culture that I?d prefer to live with nature. Hopefully when the market bounces back my investments will bear enough fruit to buy land, and I can hire a builder a little later on. I’d prefer to be around a small team of Huskies than what I see on the NY Subway these days. I don?t know if that?s what you wanted to hear but I feel the same way. You?re not wrong for feeling that way at all, especially in these times.

I fit in most everywhere except here/within nerd culture. I just don't like the way most toy-collectors/pop culture nerds behave. It's embarrassing and evidences a severe lack of perspective and priorities, not to mention social skills. Too much pissing, moaning, whining and petty bullshit. Like getting worked up over toys they don't like or can't find and calling people who work at toy companies names.

I honestly agree with this. When I was super into the nerd culture I had a super hard time socializing. The more I pulled out of it and the more I started thinking positively and the more I started being more open, the more I was able to socialize. It reached a point to where I was the most social person at my job and I wouldn?t even go on any toy related sites anymore. Now I?m back tho because I have a new job that?s boring as hell and I have lots of spare time to browse. Still not going back into the nerd wars tho lol. I dont need to have people constantly nitpicking and bemoaning every new thing as soon as it?s announced and then claim to love it after its long gone (like the prequels, Star Wars rebels, Thor, Minecraft, BvS, TF2, and countless other examples)
All the trolls have been slaughtered. It?s a safe haven for now.

Just remember sis, it's all about perspective. When you say "everyone" hating your posts, you have to keep the truth in mind. The truth is, it's not "everyone". It's only a select few that hate on your posts and most of them are trolls. They are never going to give you validation or respect because they don't respect anyone. You have more friends here that respect you and agree with your posts than you acknowledge. Those are your true friends. Keep your friends in mind and forget about the trolls when you feel you don't belong. You truly belong.
