I had a bit of an epiphany a short time ago. I realized my toy collection/collecting in general no longer made me happy. It didn't hold my interest like it once did. Maybe I'm just getting old. I'll be 45 this year. Maybe I just need to grow up and focus on real world issues and priorities. Maybe it's just I don't like the turn the line has taken recently (I don't like Classified, or really and 6" lines, and I was hoping we'd never see the inferior o-ring style again). Whatever it is, I'm 99% sure I am done with collecting GI Joe. I thought I would feel sad when the day came that I had this realization. I might feel it a little, but I think I'll feel better once I sell everything and can move on.

You?re not alone. I?m 47 and focusing more on my financial end game lately and buying very few toys these days. I?ve also sold off quite a bit of modern toys. Guess what, I don?t miss a bit of it. It?s actually quite liberating. New items are too expensive or hard to find? Doesn?t even concern me anymore. And so far it seems like this year may be a bull market. Win all around.
