Anytime I ever feel bad about anything I just think that there's probably a billion people on this planet who have things a lot worse than I do and that gives me the strength to push on.

Not a real big deal but today I went to throw Command and Conquer Kane's Wrath into my xbox one only to find out that EA shutdown the online servers late last year.
I'm not a huge gamer but I loved playing C&C Kane's Wrath. I'm a sucker for console based RTS games and have loved Command and Conquer since buying it for my original playstation back in 1999/2000. I suppose I'll need to find another console based RTS (Halo Wars 2 was fun for awhile). It's sucks that RTS games in the same vein as C&C no longer get released on consoles. Maybe I'll just move back over to PC gaming to get my C&C kick. |

Strange to say maybe, but I think this falls under the heading of "Shit keeps changing!". The older we get, the more things we've grown used to and fond of just up and disappears or changes into something else. I live in the same state and city I grew up in and it seems like just driving around town is now an exercise in, "Wait, wtf!? Why is this all different?/When did they tear THAT down?/Didn't that used to be...?

I had a bit of an epiphany a short time ago. I realized my toy collection/collecting in general no longer made me happy. It didn't hold my interest like it once did. Maybe I'm just getting old. I'll be 45 this year. Maybe I just need to grow up and focus on real world issues and priorities. Maybe it's just I don't like the turn the line has taken recently (I don't like Classified, or really and 6" lines, and I was hoping we'd never see the inferior o-ring style again). Whatever it is, I'm 99% sure I am done with collecting GI Joe. I thought I would feel sad when the day came that I had this realization. I might feel it a little, but I think I'll feel better once I sell everything and can move on.

I've come to hate some of my direct reports and the company I work for.
My direct reports, despite being extremely highly paid (all six figures), do the bare minimum and drag their feet on everything while the lower paid employees work their butts off and get more done with less. The business itself has become toxic with departments that used to work together now sabotaging each other and upper management is so busy managing up to the investors that they completely ignore the fact that they need to be managing the actual business they're in charge of. |
