I'm really happy with my collection - the o-ring ARAH vintage figures/vehicles I have allow me an escape from time to time. im fortunate enough to have a corner of the basement where I store all my Joes and it does not interfere with anything else.
Anything I may end up purging will probably revolve around the ME figs/vehicles I have acquired. Dusty and Cross Country - just curious how much of your collections you purged? |

Anything I may end up purging will probably revolve around the ME figs/vehicles I have acquired. Dusty and Cross Country - just curious how much of your collections you purged? 214 MotU Classics down to about 80, again only keeping modern figures based on what existed in the 80s, plus Queen Marlena, Green Goddess, Alcala head Skeletor, Filmation Skeletor, Filmation He-Man (just a lovely figure), Vikor (Vikor is my stand in Conan, ahem I'm waiting Hot Toys) and the vehicle drivers (I'd love to sell off all of the drivers) because my collection in MiB. I was into He-Man before the cartoon and prefer the Mimi comics versions, but didn't want to break up the royal family. From about 1500 ME 4" Joes to just over 300. The only non 80s figures I've kept are Kwinn, Zartan's daughter (such a well done figure), the blue DG Shipwreck, and any vehicle drives who's vehicles I wanted to keep (so I don't break up the set incase I decide to sell them at a later time). Sold off most of my troop builders (still considering some). I sold of all on my con sets and any con exclusive figure or vehicle not part of the old ARAH line up. If any con set had figures that were part of the ARAH line I sold the set anyway. If I still want any of those figures (like Voltar) I'll buy them back later on, IF I still feel I need them. I have kept all of my vintage restored O rings. Never troop built those. I will take them to my grave. Sold off all of my near complete Mythic Legions collection, still have a few preorders that I will sell as soon as they sell out online. Sold off any and all 6th scale Hot Toys except OT Star Wars and John Matrix. I am in the process of selling off my 6th scale Sideshow Joes except for Storm Shadow v1 and Zartan. I will pick up that new Three Zero Firefly (Sold my Sideshow Firefly for 2x the cost of the new ThreeZero one so its an upgrade with a profit). I will just keep that awesome set of my 3 favorite Cobras in that scale. Sold off any 5 PoA (non vintage) 4" Star Wars, and Star Wars not from the OT. Am still collecting 4" Retros and VC, as slow as they come out, and OT only. Wil also take my vintage 4" Star Wars to the grave. Sold of all of my 12" Gentle Giant Jumbo Star Wars figures. Sold off any Masterpiece Transformers not part of the '84 line up EXCEPT Warpath (love that guy) Will pick up a Power Glide if available one day. Also sold some'84 guys but just to upgrade to better or official releases. Sold of any DC figures except for the 1 Batman figure that I liked best. Sold any Marvel Legends figures that were not in the 1986 Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, sold off any figure based on TV and or Movies. Sold off all 4" Marvel but kept the Galactus and both Sentinels because I didn't need 3' versions of those. Sold off all of my really nice 1/18th scale military collection. MiB Tanks, Chopers and Fighter Jets. And my entire Playmobil medieval/vikings collection. Made +$42,000 last year on Ebay. After I subtracted what I paid for them all I was about 24000 in the green (or black as it were). Am currently on pace to do that again this year but not sure I have enough left to sell all year and keep what I plan on keeping, but what I plan on keeping changes by the day.

Wow you did a huge purge! Hopefully you made some cash! For me I was never into any other line besides Joe as a kid so my connection to the ARAH era figs/vehicles is the same as yours. I just can't justify getting rid of any of that stuff, I like it too much. I may pare it down and get rid of some army builders or vehicles I have several of but parting with my ARAH collection is something I can't really put my mind around.
My ME Joes might be another story. I was collecting those as I wanted some intact version of many of my favorite characters. However since the o-rings are returning I would gladly trade off most of my ME figures for brand new o-ring versions. This is more of a waiting game for me. I need to see Hasbro's o-ring vision before I make a decision. Going forward I'll continue to support o-ring for the foreseeable future as new product. I'm pretty much at the point where I don't want to invest in 30-40 year old plastic (with a few exceptions) and the after market prices are way too high. Sorry for hijacking the thread! I?m just going to recreate the 80s toy lists for those IPs that I like and leave it at that. Yeah, I?m happy to support the new O rings. I?m happy with how they have handled them so far and am happy with their availability. I wish we?d get them a little more frequently though.

To clarify something...
I still collect RETRO and RE-ISSUES or RE-RELEASES of other 80's toy lines. For example: I did purchase all of the Transformers in vintage packaging Re-issues that Hasbro did with Walmart. Also The Real Ghostbusters toys as well. Those toys were all well done and worth every penny. They were worth every penny. Also, Playmates did the Ninja Turtles toys re-issues recently as well. Those were exceptionally well done as well. Again, a bargain to collect and own a piece of childhood nostalgia. They were all done correctly. Why Hasbro just does not give us plain jane (not gi jane) O-rings that are actually the same molds...no excuses, they have the old molds just repair them and do some re-issue toys with packaging and card backs and the whole kitandkabudle. Is that too much to ask? A gift set even with 82 stuff would also be nice. Its the 40th aniv and they give us repaints of tiger force 6 inch figures to preorder a year in advance. Thats how they celebrate the 40th. But I digress, modern toy collecting is so ubiquitous in that it so dull and all the 6 inch and 7 inch lines really do look bland and feel same-ish. Thats the crux of it. |

I only collect figures with little to no exposed skin. If they don't come with a mask, I give them one. (see my signature)
In the dynamic landscape of higher education, the concept of birthdays and academic timelines occasionally being mismatched due to ADHA adds a unique dimension to the student experience. Embracing diversity and recognizing individual journeys fosters a richer, more inclusive educational environment. Moreover, it highlights the need for a holistic approach to student support. As we navigate the digital transformation in higher education, https://essaypro.com/blog/digital-tr...gher-education it becomes imperative to tailor resources and interventions to accommodate diverse learning styles and timelines. By doing so, we pave the way for a more empathetic and effective educational system, ensuring every student's success in the evolving digital era. |

No plans to stop collecting but I do think there is an serious lack of creativity and original ideas from the major companies. It's the same batch of characters (optimus, bats, tmnt) over and over across several companies.

You're not wrong, and it's one reason why I've dropped a few lines over the years, both modern and original. I don't need multiple iterations of the same thing.
