Not gonna lie, I'm dead broke and the idea of paying discount chain prices for stuff I've had to say no to sounds kind of appealing . . .

The line went to a Toys R Us exclusive soon after as Walmart and Target dropped the line because the waves they overordered and poor exclusive waves didn't sell. Where if they had ordered the waves that went to Ross they would have sold well. A modern example is the Corps merchandise not appearing at mass retail and instead heading straight to Ollies stores. I've heard that Ross recently got Marvel Legends and Fortnite figures that never appeared in high numbers at mass retail stores as well, so it seems like the cycle repeats itself. |

Both would be ideal. Index funds for the 401 plus your 6000 annual max into the
Roth (you can even buy index funds with your Roth). ;)

The term seems to be, "Distribution." The problem seems to be that no one can decide who's responsible. The manufacture, the retailer or both.

lol Yeah, that in itself is one of my good reasons to QUIT modern action figure collecting.

Yeah, I'm having a particularly hard time pulling the trigger on getting rid of my 1:18 Marvel figures precisely because of the MCU.
But less fun... I think I'll probably keep some of it. Right now it's about paring it down. It's a process and kinda overwhelming, so I've had to take it one box at a time, sorting and consolidating. I'm down to my Marvel, Indiana Jones and GI Joe now and that's all gonna be the hardest to cut ties with. The big issue I run into are associations, whether due to nostalgia or plans I had for custom projects, etc. Like, there are things I think I should get rid of, but then I realize they're connected to something else in some way and that's connected to something else...pretty soon it becomes an "all or nothing" sort of deal, which makes it hard for me to keep anything at all. It's nonsensical and goofy, and speaks to how psychological collecting is. I started selling any figure I didn?t like and then moved on to items I was ambivalent about. That wasn?t too hard but then I went after the stuff I just liked but didn?t love. That was much harder but I find out that I didn?t miss anything and I enjoy my collection more. |

I too have slimmed my collection way down. I realized I had stuff that I didn?t know I had.

That was much harder but I find out that I didn?t miss anything and I enjoy my collection more. I had to remind myself that this entire endeavor for me was about making it up to the kid inside who grew up in a blue collar single income family. My parents got me so much, more than they should have, but as a kid you always wanted everything. Now I got to get everything. Once I realigned my collection to what I only ever wanted (characters and vehicles that existed during my childhood) it was easy to dump a lot of my collection. The stuff starts to own you after a while. Purging felt good. And like you said Dusty, made me like what I kept a lot more. I’ve made a good bit of cash too. Paid off some debt, Beefed up my retirement agenda, and am enjoying life more while worrying a lot less about toys that sell out in ten seconds.
