Got a 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Was running fine until wife went to take it to work and it would not start. She continued to crank it and it finally started. When she got it started it ran like nothing was wrong. No dyeing on the way to work, no dim lights, no nothing. I left her in the car while it was running (if you turn it off it wont restart) to run in the store and it was fine. I messed with it today. The voltage of the battery when off is 10 which I have heard that is not good. I connected it up to a charger and it got it to 12 volts and tried and it sounded better but still didn't start. I reconnected it, charged it a bit more, and it took a while for it to start but it did. Nothing was dim. Only time it ever goes dim is after cranking for a while or I mess with it. I didnt think it was the alternator because it drives like nothing and nothing dims. I thought maybe the battery or the starter.

My advice, it should still be under warranty, so quit fucking with it and take it to the dealer ASAP. Hyundai/Kias seem to be getting a reputation for electrical gremlins.

Yes this. Hyundai and Kia are known for battery issues. I have had both and I swear that the devices drain the battery. Battery warranties are often reduced by some amount each year but some of it should be covered. Stop messing with it though because some automakers snake out of a warranty when ppl do that.

Well dealerships suck 10x more then before. Took it to the dealer cause we had a warranty from them for the car. Turns out it is the starter which is covered but it is also covered by the factory warranty still which due to this they cant touch it and the car needs to go 5 mins down the street to the dealership that deals with this type of car unless I want to p[ay 200 to replace starter. Wtf. I just paid to have it towed here. All I have to do is get it there and they can fix it. So I told him when I come back can they get it started for I can drive it down the road. No they cant get it started. Such bullshit.
