Have you ever wondered how so many of us adults are confused and unclear on what exactly happened to our old toy collections when we were children?
Often we hypothesize that our parents sold them off in a garage sale sometime after we entered high school/college age. Or we often deduce that our old toys were "lost in a move". However, I cant help but wonder why we all seem to have the same scenario excuses in our heads on how our old amazing toy collections suddenly "disappeared" as we grew older. So I have been thinking..what if 10 years from now...lets say you have discovered a time machine/technology and you have chosen to go back in time to your childhood residence and "retrieve" (not steal) your old toy collection! Think about it! You know where you used to live. You probably remember exactly which doors/parents working hours/the hours you and your siblings were not in your homes. You probably would want your old toys back and you most likely want your nostalgia catered to with your time travel tech. Would you not?! Thinking further on it, this scenario would not cause any time paradox if you choose to do do so. You would not suddenly change your history or your future. Your old toys have always and will still just "vanish" and you are still a grown adult today who has strong feelings of toy nostalgia and that won't ever change. However, consider the very possibility. It could very well occur to some of us. |

If I'm time traveling to the past for toys, I'm going to Toysrus and cleaning them out of all their night force figures and vehicles.

You can't pay for stuff in 80's with our modern money, dude.
You somehow would need to secure the retro bills before you make the trip. You would also need allot of old bills since you can't use modern credit or debit cards/apple pay. I would imagine its pretty hard (not too mention expensive) to get old bills today. If you knew exactly where your stomping grounds was you can just walk right into your childhood basement/attic and grab that boxed hovercraft before your dad hands it over to you for your 7th birthday present. See what I mean. |

No need for money. Just plan a big heist of Toy R Us. You're going back to your future anyway, so you're not going to go to jail. Unless you get caught that it is. LOL!
Or, if don't want to steal, you can turn a few tricks for some quick cash, place some well selected bets on a sports game or something, and then go buy everything at Toys R Us. LOL! Last edited by sharky; 12-06-2021 at 05:31 PM.. |

One of my things to do with access to time-travel tech is go back to the 1980s and get Tracks and Jazz that I never got from G1, replace some of my TFs that got broke, and get the Mauler, WHALE, Tomahawk, Conquest X-30 and a shit load of troop builder Cobras.
My other plans include a trip to the 1960s to collect Masters of the missing episodes of Doctor Who. |

I dunno, I think having all my awesome toys stolen from me when I was a kid by some dude who looks like he could be my uncle or something would be a painful experience that might put me off toy collecting in the future.
Besides, while a fair bit of my stuff was sold at garage sales it was usually with my agreement and I got the cash. I did foolishly sell a lot of vintage stuff to toy/comic shops in bulk in my teenage years, though. So if I had a time travel device I'd find a way to slip my parents some stock tips so by now they'd be multi-millionaires. Last edited by Jmacq1; 12-06-2021 at 05:09 PM.. |

See what I mean. Well no kidding! OF COURSE I would bring retro bills back with me. And no, it wouldn't cost hardly anything to get 1970s/1980s bills. Hell, even bicentennial quarters and silver dollars aren't really worth anything more than their initial value. So yeah, my initial comment still stands.
