Lagers, Ales, Porters, Stouts, draughts. There's more kinds of beer out there than CC and SE varients. What are some of your favorites?
Best one I tried recently was called "Terrible". This isn't a beer so much as an experience. It's 10.5% strong (like wine!) and it's absolutely pitch black. If you held it up to the light I doubt you'd see through it, yet for the immense strength of it's flavor and alchohol content, it was amazingly smooth. I killed a pint and a half before I'd known it (although I sure as hell knew it later). Other stuff I like is Sam Adams, Corona, Yuengling, Dinkel Acker, Land Shark, Tsing Tao, Sapporo, and Ichi Ban. Monty Python's Holy Ale wasn't too bad either. Anyone else? |

Holy schnit. You just named every beer I drink (missing Red stripe, Guiness, Bass Ale & Sierra Nevada Pale Ale).

I have a really high tolerance (Latino+constant, constant drinking), so none of that weak, cheap p*ss does anything for me. However, put a few bottles of Golden Monkey, Quad, Merry Monks, or La Fin Du Monde in front of me, and I'll show you how I roll. Literally. I might start rolling. But my drunken escapades are for another thread entirely

Drinking Stella right now.
I like a local one called "Harry Baal's" - stout. I pretty much like anything produced by Three Floyds as well. I could go on if I wasn't half drunk right now. EDIT: I hate "light" beer. Just wanna put that out there. I graduated that stuff when I was 10. |

Ah, and how could I forget Guiness Draught and Boddington Pub Ale. They make the ultimate black and tan! |

Leinenkugel makes a bunch of great beers, especially great beers for summer and grilling out with; Summer Shandy, Berry Weiss.
Lindemann's Lambics are some of the best stuff on earth. I love a good Barleywine; true Barleywines are hard to find now. Sounds like what you were drinking, Zef, could possibly be one...smooth, not really even beer anymore, really high AC...the threshold for Barleywine is 10%. I love Dogfish Head, the pride of my current home, Delaware, and all their lovely Pale Ales. Of course there's Guiness and Beamish and Smithwicks. I tend to like to find local brewpubs, or semi-local, anyway. Some of my favorite really small, you've-never-heard-of-unless-you-lived-there places include the Red Brick Station, outside of Baltimore, Stewart's Brew Pub here in New Castle, and Swasbuckler ales, which provides beer for the PA Renfaire. And ya know, despite loving all that good dark and strong beer above, I still occasionally enjoy a 6 of Miller High Life. And the only thing I did in college more than sleep was drink Yuengling Lager.
