I grew up watching wrestling with my pops and while I am a product of sunday afternoon WWF on USA and NWA/WCW and Championship wrestling, your list has really taken me back and I have to say I think Dusty deserves to be in the top ten, IMO. If this list were expanded to 20 what would it be, I would hope that some of the earlier guys that laid the ground work for what is today would be listed. Guys like Superstar Billy Graham, Terry Funk, Bruno Sammartino, Killer Kowalski, Baron Von Raschke, Harley Race, etc. etc. etc. while we are at lets do tag teams???
Superstar Graham- One of the greatest of all time. He brought wrestling out of the dark ages and into the modern era. We wouldn't have many of todays greats without him. Terry Funk- Was always great, but re-invented himself in the '90's as the true hardcore legend. Greatest "Crazy" guy ever. Bruno Samartino- Great... but overrated. He was the longest reigning champion of all time, but is very regionalized (New York). He wasn't as good as the NWA Champions of his day (Jack Brisco, Terry Funk, Harley Race, Lou Thesz, Dory Funk), and has become very bitter towards wrestling today. A legend in his own mind. Killer Kowalski- Greatest heel of his time! Man, he was nasty! Trained Triple H and many others. Great fued with Gorilla Monsoon (Honorable mention as well). Baron Von Raschke- He was a bit of a undercard guy, but a good heel nonetheless. His claw was more impressive than the Von Erich version... Harley Race- Toughest S.O.B. in wrestling history. I wouldn't want to cross him! As underrated as Bruno is overrated. They never talk about Harley anymore! |

Terry Funk,
I don't know if I would go on to say that he re-invented himself he may have rejuventated his career, but he was always the the most hardcore, he was doing what cactus jack was doing in the 90's twenty years earlier.

Okay- let's continue the madness- Greatest Tag Teams of all time.
10- Demolition- Longest reigning WWF Tag Team Champions of all time. Took a copy-cat gimmick and made the most of it. Could have been more, but the WWF burried them when they signed the real Road Warriors. 9- The Midnight Express- Jim Cornettes team endured a few line-up changes through the years, but cosistantly remained a top draw in the NWA and WCW. The WWF version was very weak, but what do you expect of a team of jobbers put together in a boardroom? 8- The New Age Outlaws- The first real Attitude Era team were really entertaining! Started out as two guys nobody cared about and ended up the hottest team in wrestling. They were also the glue that kept DX together after Shawn Michaels left. 7- The British Bulldogs- Great team. They were the first truely great tag team the WWF had in the '80's. Dynamite Kid's influence can still be seen in many wrestlers today. I really miss these guys. 6- The Rock-N-Roll Express- Many teenage girls had many wishes about these two! They were the first "heartthrob" tag team, and no other team has captured it quite like they did. I saw Ricky Morton wrestle inShelby, NC a few years ago. He's still got it! 5- The Hardy Boyz- Innovative, exciting, and very popular. Despite their best efforts, WWE can't kill this team. It has come back more times than Jason Voorhees! 4- Rick and Scott Steiner- The greatest of the brother teams had quite a run in the '90's. Rick was highly underrated, and in my estimation never got his due as a singles competitor. Scot was injury prone and a huge fan of himself. Probably why they're not number one. 3- The Fabulous Freebirds- They paved the way for not only tag-team wrestling, but also stables! Their legacy may be unmatched in tag-team wrestling, introducing Rock-N-Roll entrance music and the ever- popular, ever-debated "Freebird rule." 2-The Dudley Boyz- The most decorated team in wrestling history. WWE were stupid for letting them go. 1- The Road Warriors- Is there any doubt? Hawk and Animal made tag team wrestling what it is today. Often imitated, never duplicated. See team #10. Honorable mentions- Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, Harlem Heat, The Nasty Boys, The Hart Foundation, Edge and Christian. |

Some other honorable mentions I was thinking of: Tito Santana (aka: Flying Burrito), and Ultimate Warrior (dude was on LSD, ritalin, coke, and all of the other good ones). Honorable mention for tag team: Strike Force (Tito Santana and Rick Martel).

They were all good, no doubt. Killer Bees are almost an honorable mention. Probably would have made the list if they'd won the title.
