my mom was a school teacher for 35 years and retired in 2006, lmk tell you, she put up with more crap then most and she had to switch schools a few times since i was a kid due to bullcrap, i understand completely how fustrating it can be as a teacher just from knowing what my mom went threw.
i hope that you get a better teaching position if you choose to do so or mabe switch careers to something else you are pasionate about, stay optimistic and im sure good things will happen for you.

I was lucky enough to have influential English teachers all the way till the end of High School. I was reading at college level since late in Middle school thanks to them, I'd cling to their every word.
Of course, it may also have had a lot to do with the fact that they were mostly beautiful single women, but hey, I still learnded good! xD |

Wah I can't handle being a teacher!!! WAh Wah Wah!! Those who can can, those who can't teach! Try working a real job like the majority of us. I work 75 hours a week at multimillion dollar business & I hate my job but do I quit or bitch online no! Grow a sack & work hard! People like you who have to have every need met is a big part in the pussification of America. 40 years ago people hated their job & delt but today not so much. I am actually glad that a whinner like you can no longer influence our nations future. Try laying brick or working in a kitchen for 60 hours a week. In this economy you were lucking to have a job at all!!!!

I don't know what could be said that could be considered constructive, considering you already quit. I wouldn't have quit a job unless I had another one lined up, but if teaching turned out to be a bad fit with you, I guess it was better that you figured it out sooner rather than later. Of course with all the time and effort you spent getting to where you were, I hope this decision was not made in haste. Anyway, best of luck.

The positive thing is you aren't teaching anyone anymore. From what I have read you come off as someone who just wants people to agree with him which is a far cry from a teacher at any level. Good luck finding a job where opinions that reflect yours are the only ones that count.

i am a teacher who has far worst challenges on a regular basis,,,,i teach adults for are for whatever reason disabled,,,both mentally and physically in in some cases both,
i deal with adults whos brain functions can be anywhere from 4 months old to 78 yrs old...on a regular basis i get chased, cussed out, and sometimes swung at,,,,i have had feces and urine flung at me,,,,,i have had to deal with people who cause they don't have any idea its wrong eat their feces or smear it on walls other peoples food ect ect some adults i have to wipe em after they poop, chage their depends (and sometimes its not just poop in the depends...i also have to deal with spent seman....i have to wipe that off cause they will smear that) i have been thrown once through a window, i have had my shoulder dislocated and my wrist spraned being slamed agenst a door, i have been stabed, punched, bit, scratched and nearly run over with a car...and this has been in within almost 4 years at the job, BUT i still go back everyday....because i love my job. and the fact that alot of the people they look to me everyday to help them learn about stuff we "normal functing adults" take for granted. they greet me with a smile and hug me,,,,,even one person who is non verbal and has extreme austesm,,,,smiles when he sees me...and he never did that before till i started to work with him, so being a teacher is hard work so while i understand why he did what he did,,,,i can not respect his desicion cause try spending a day doing what i do...and he will be beging for his job back. |

I'm also going to add, not to be a jerk, but for your own information in the future... If you want to be taken seriously in this discussion, please check your spelling and grammar. Not trying to sound like some English elitist prick, but if you are a teacher, you need to sound like one regardless if you are posting on a toy forum. I only add this because of the nature of this discussion. |

You just stated that you love your job. The OP loves teaching, but cannot love his job because of the setting/climate of the work place. There is a difference.

I realize that he may have posted very quickly and did not check what was written. I'm sure we've all done this. But because of the nature of this discussion, and the poster beginning by saying that he is a teacher, I feel that it is an appropriate gesture. A batting coach must be able to hit the ball. A teacher should be able to present himself accordingly. I'm not trying to pick a fight with the guy. I have a huge amount of respect for what he is doing. |
