i really want to play it, but i really can't justify paying full price for a game with limited replay value. no online play kills it for me, and once everyone that has it unlocks everything it'll get traded in and be dirt cheap.
i'll grab it then. i am uh..."acquiring" the psp version to tide me over as we speak though.

I rented it and am playing now. I think it depends on if you're a hard core or casual gamer.
Lately, with kids and work and all, I tend to appreciate some simpler gaming that isn't a mandatory 50 hour epic quest. I agree about the Contra feel. But more like the original "I just put in the 30 lives code" feel. The whole series, without cheats focuses on insane challenge and pattern memory that I think only 13 year old Japanese kids can master! Unlocked Snake Eyes, he reminds me a little bit of the button mashing Strider swordplay. I found the Snow Cat controls pretty clumsy on either control setting. Cool game though for Joe fans. Movie based games tend to go down in price or on clearance fast, so it's definitely worth picking up for $20 at some point! By then the possible classic costumes that have been teased will be available. As it is, it may not be worth $60 if there's a good chance you'll eventually be paying for extra contet on top of that, not to me anyway, since I've already dropped $9 renting it. |
