Horrible news. It just reminds me of the fact that my brother-in-law passed away last October after a two-year battle with colorectal cancer (he was also diagnosed stage 3). He was also in his 40s (he was 45) when he passed away. They really need to change things regarding the recommendations of when to get a colonoscopy (the CDC recommends getting one starting at the age of 50).

Dammit - He was my age! (We were less than a month apart) which means nothing but it does make it feel more personal. Life is too fragile. People who keep on fighting despite their cancer might inspire me but doesn’t make their life any easier. Cancer has touched more young people in my life than I can count and it’s always just as sad. Was at a virtual birthday party for a high school friend with terminal brain cancer last night, also Chadwick's age, wonderful person who maybe has 3-5 more years despite chemo and surgery. So hard! Rest in peace Chadwick Boseman. May your loved ones find comfort somehow.

I was shocked when I first read of his passing. What a tragedy. My thoughts are with his family. Its a sad loss of a great actor.

This really hits home. Colorectal cancer runs in my family and I've lost relatives to it. I believe screening should happen far before age 50 regardless of family history. And for God's sake, if you're having unusual symptoms (like passing blood), don't ignore it or assume you know what it is. My aunt did and died.
