This is meant to be lighthearted and fun. It's been on my mind for years.
The chip and dip ratio. For best results, I suggest pringles chips since they are uniformly the same size. I have always had extra dip, or chips leftover. If you just smack a few spoonfuls of dip on a plate, then a handful of pringles, it never evens out in the end. First we have the breakage factor. Pringles are relatively thin, so they break. Having said that do you dip each broken piece, or just allocate extra dip on the biggest part of the chip, to account for the broken pieces, then eat the broken pieces with no dip. To prevent this I prefer the sliding method were you gently slide the flat side gently across the dip, preventing breakage. I find that method better then the dig and scoop, where the chip acts like a shovel. To much weight can break it. Also the slide method, seems more consistent, each time. But in the end, if you have a lot of dip left, and a few chips, that consistency is greatly thrown off balance. I've came close to having an even amount of both dip and chip, many times I've had to scrape the plate with a few remaining chips, but then I feel it dont count, a speck of dip just barely layers the chip, and you barely taste the dip. I have yet to master the art of "Dipping" where I end up with a complete, and satisfactory feeling off each chip, perfectly layered through the meal. Yes, I have to much time on my hands. |

I love Pringles but they are too fragile for serious deep-dipping. You need a heartier chip. Otherwise you'd have to spoon the dip onto the chip but some might see that as cheating or taking the easy way out. As for the ratio, try counting the available chips, then dividing the dip up into sections. If there's 20 chips, you could divide the dip into quarters and use 5 chips to spoon out a quarter of the dip.

Mash both components to desired ration up in a bowl. Consume with a spoon.

I usually buy the regular size Pringles and at the same time by the small snack size container of Pringles therefore the amount of dip that I have available it has always even. So that way I don't have extra dip left over nor do I have extra Pringles because that small size Pringles balances it off perfectly.
