Am I the only one that has issues with trying to be quiet when the wife is asleep, and ends with loud noises. Opening a bag of chips, struggle with a burrito package, tripping over shoes, knocking shit around. Etc..etc...
I am no Storm Shadow, when silence is required. More of a Rock N Roll during war time. |

No, I'm actually eerily quiet due to a childhood spent sneaking around the house at night after lights out. I don't even have to think about it anymore.

Lol. Sorta funny story..well now. Dating this gal way back when. Anyways went to a buddies house, got drunk..they dropped me off at home. I leaned against the house while digging for the right key to unlock the door. Heh. She opened the door glaring at me. Turns out I was leaning on the doorbell. She said choice words at me, slammed the door. Then, I kept thinking the door was locked, leaned back against the house. Again, doorbell. She came back, yelled at me in a way that would make a sailor smile. In my drunken stupor, I realized I should stay outside. So stumbled over to the bench swing on the porch, forgetting it wasnt safe. At this point, yeah was so tired. I just kinda slumped myself on it. Chains broke, crash!! Swing broke, the bench crashed hard on the porch. I lay silent for about 15 seconds.
We ended the relationship a few days later. Am I proud of this moment? Nope. Can I laugh about it now. Oh yeah. |

Well, could've been worse man... at least you didn't have your girlfriend angrily shaking you out of your drunken stupor on a random neighbors couch. Nobody was very impressed with that situation.

I have my moments. Right back atcha man.
I'll tell you this about the good ol days- there are a lot of times that I wonder how in the hell I managed to bumble my way through them and make it to these days... and the crazy shit is that in another 20 years, these will be the good ol days. Pretty nuts, eh?

I get what yer saying. I was stupid. But its helped me out in the whole what to do and not to department. I dunno about these being good times in another 20 years. 2020 is just jacked up, in so many ways. I'm not even gunna pretend to know what next month is gunna be like, let alone 20 years from now. If I had any kinda say in things. I'd go back to the mid 80s.

That makes two of us, but I'd say those of us that had the rockier starts are probably better equipped to handle uncertainty. From my own perspective, both this and the '08 crash really didn't change much in the way of my day to day life, because I'm used to much harder times, and I've always lived check to check anyway. Hell, this may sound crazy, but financially I'm actually more secure than I was before this started, by sheer dumb luck. And if the bottom drops out tomorrow? I'll be fine. Not thrilled of course, but definitely fine.

Financially were good. Just lost 3 family members this year. Two to Covid, had an uncle pass away today from cancer. It's only April. My family is in Michigan. A hot spot. I didnt reveal that for sorries or sympathy. Just a rough year so far. It's just my 2020. I got plenty to do. Actually simplified a story idea, I hope to post tomarrow. I keep saying that, lol. I dunno, just day by day.
Lifes a bitch. Please dont let any of this be a thread killer. I'm good. If anyone wants to share stories of being loud, love to read it. |
