Everyone, take a look at this. Its the new Batman sculpt.
HOT TOYS - PRODUCTS Its litterally the coolest thing ive seen in ages, and puts the gi joe sideshow collectables to shame. I want one, but no price tag yet. What do you think it'll go for? |

Hot Toys has really been upping their game lately. I think most toy industry observers will agree that they are at the top when it comes to 1:6 sculpt quality.
Sideshow should really have subcontracted their GI Joe figures to Hot Toys. Licenced-property Hot Toys products generally don't cost much more than what Sideshow was asking for with their Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander figures, which, in my mind, should have been in the $40 to $80 price range given the quality, and not the ridiculous $120 they were asking for, even if you figure for the licencing fees and such. By contrast, the Hot Toys Iron Man or the Hot Toys Hellboy and Hot Toys Leon Kennedy figures, featuring museum-level sculpt quality and features and articulation up the yin-yang can be found for anywhere between $120 to $180. I think Sideshow is banking on the primary market for their 1:6 GI Joe figures being primarily 1:18 collectors. who have little to no experience with high-end sixth scale collectibles, and wouldn't realize until too late (or at all) that they're overpaying for middling quality product. |
