Happened to me yesterday, been waiting for my package. Shows it was delivered yesterday, I get home and it's not there. Now, if you remember I had 10 packages stolen earlier this year, so I fear the worst... but today the package arrived, despite being tracked delivered. Some of you might say, better late than never... and that's true... but at the same time, just don't LIE! This makes me so angry.

That's funny. I've experienced this several times, always on Fridays. Then the package would show up Saturday or Monday. I always figured it was my crappy post office or just my carrier wanting to appear to have delivered stuff but going off to hit the bar early on Fridays. I guess it's more widespread than that.
My mom used to work in a post office in a small town called Hull. The guy who ran the place said many times that the larger offices did not care about customer service like the small ones did. The smaller office was always on time with the mail, even though they only had one postal truck.

I've had it happen many times over the years. The carrier scans items as "delivered" only to actually get delivered a day or 2 later. My carrier would come early enough, that my "delivered" item wasn't delivered and I'd go to the post office, sometimes the carrier never had them item while on their route, or they would call the carrier and get "oh, it slipped under the seat and I'll drop it back off to recipient".
Last week I had a first class package take 10 days to get delivered from 1 state over because my post office kept sending it to every near-by city but mine. I have a package right now sitting 45 minutes away since last night, which was to have been delivered already. An ex postal worker told me they scan stuff as delivered, even though it won't be delivered until a day or more later because the postal service has daily quotas they're supposed to meet...yeah right.

Is there a reason why all the articles on this topic from 1-2 days ago around 12/8/18 are exact copy and pastes of the fox 13 news story?
I can't find a secondary source to verify this 2018 article so I'm inclined to distrust it immediately. It looks like copy paste journalism. (That and I trust FOX less than I trust CNN, which is hilarious since I don't trust CNN at all) -------------------------- There's one from November 2017 talking about the USPS pre-scanning amazon delivery confirmations to prevent late delivery penalties amazon has to give out if their 2 day shipping packages are delivered late. |

All I can tell you is that the link is from my local news, and they are the least "Fox News" as you can get, haha.

FWIW this isn't "Fox News" this is a Fox affiliate owned by the Tribune company, which owns a number of tv affiliates across the country and used to be part of the company which owns the Los Angeles Times, before the print and tv divisions split up. I work at a tv station that has a Fox affiliate and we are not "Fox News" though we can pull national stories from their server if we choose to.
TV affiliates have their own local news organizations and do their own local reporting. So finding a secondary source on this report is unlikely because it was done at the local level not national. Here though is a similar report from another tv station last year: https://www.cbs46.com/news/mail-carr...d4bc13a55.html |

I once complained about this via USPS' customer service site because it was a very important package for work and the branch manager personally delivered the item to me that evening.
I have more problems with UPS then USPS though. I've had numerous UPS packages get stuck in a loop where they're making their way to me and will then suddenly reverse course, heading in the opposite direction before turning back around again. I'm currently dealing with a parcel that actually made it my city (SLC, UT) along with another package, then disappeared, winding up in Massachusetts, while the other package was delivered on time. I mostly hate UPS. |

I remember sending some payroll checks to an Ogden branch here in Utah via UPS and they ended up in Florida.
Suffice to say there were some really angry employees...

Sometimes they scan it when they put it on the truck, not when they actually place it on your doorstep. I agree, it is very annoying.
