Expect lots and lots of pain......bro, it will be rough! The Navy is right below the Marines for most difficult boot camp. Good luck and congrats!

Navy's rough, but I know it produces some tough effing soldiers! Best of luck, and if you go to war, come back safe!

I was in the Marines- I don't know about the other services, but as far as basic goes- keep your mouth shut, do as your told, exactly as your told, when your told, and you'll do fine. Good luck bro.

I was an officer in the Air Force. Did my five-and-dive. Wasn't for me. It ain't your daddy's air force. Probably should have enlisted, but what are you gonna do, right? Least I got paid well for my life to suck balls for 9 years...

I spent 6 years in the Navy. The Navy is all about attention to detail. You'll spend a lot of time in bootcamp doing things like ironing and making sure your locker is perfect. You'll also get in pretty good shape. Boot camp can be a shock at first but after 2 or 3 weeks it becomes easier and easier. After 4 or 5 weeks it seems like normal life. Don't worry too much about boot camp. It is a very small part of a Naval career.
I was an ET2 (Electronics Tech 2nd class) and was up for E6 when I got out but didn't take the test. You advance faster in the Navy than the other services I think but rank doesn't mean as much in the Navy as the other services. As a senior E5 I did my share of cleaning toilets and buffing decks. I spent time both on shore and on ship (Aegis Guided Missle Cruiser). I enjoyed shore duty more but being on a ship is an experience. You'll likely spend time on a ship. I'm very glad I did it and I'm sure you will too. You might want to head over to HULU and watch some episodes of "Carrier". It's a great documentary about life on an aircraft carrier out at sea. Good luck!
