Spent Friday evening working on my Joe room, and looking at the 1984 Ecto 1 to see if I can fix the seat problem.
It's an easy fix and it's clear Hasbro didn't give a shit. I have to cut a couple of pegs off and fill out/retexture the floor with putty, but Hasbro could have easily retooled this back seat in 5-10 mins to make 2 Joes fit. Disgusting. We deserve better. Yeah I know it probably sounds ungrateful, but upon getting the Ecto I realized that this was a 1984 holy grail for me to have these 4 Ghostbusters in O-ring movie form.

I watched the Retroblasting video of it and his report is pretty much the same as how I feel.
This is 40 years late, but it's what most of us wanted back then who were obsessed with Ghostbusters. It's just amped up my hatred of Kenner 500%. They ruined everything they touched. Star Wars deserved a better steward. Mego, ERTL, Hasbro, whoever, but Kenner's formation was the proverbial "You so stupid and so ugly, your mom took a shit and said 'stand up!'" for Star Wars.

Just to to throw my 2 in, I got my own set of GB in tonight and busted them open; the Ecto-1 I could have passed on (it's fine, but not something I'm super excited about), the figures are perfect, though. The likenesses are as good as you're going to get in o-ring form, the accessories are perfect, the packaging is awesome, etc, etc. Also can't complain about having a one and done purchase with a franchise- my GB shelf is complete (although I would certainly buy Louis, Slimer, Janine, and Dana).
Honestly, there's a level of care and attention to detail here that I didn't feel was present with the Retro Joe stuff. If presented a choice betwwen this and the Joe 2-packs, I'd take this without thinking twice.

Thanks Satan, I’ve been on the fence, especially since I have no income right now….but I might get them.
