Got up to walk off a headache and decided to see what this thread is about. Pretty cool! Hope you're all having a great holiday weekend, even if you do have to work.

My household is all sick, my gas has been off since last Wednesday due to a leak, meaning no in-house hot showers, stove, or heat, but I'm in CA - No big on that last.

All that to say - I'm still thankful I have a family, a roof, and people I love that have stepped up to help.

The did find it. It was pretty bad. What happened was, the gas company put too much stink in the mixture, and got 1000+ calls all over the county. Some were just little leaks inside - Ours was an outside pipe that was falling apart upon close inspection. So, gas company shut us off until we can get a plumber to fix. Shenanigans ensued that would take too long to type. We're almost back, but still have to get repaired, get a city inspector, then get gas company to come back and unlock the meter. Better than a burned down house for sure, but not fun.

We had a minor gas leak at our house the other day. I went and called the plumber first. They told me never call the gas company for that simple fact that they lock out the meter and it could take up to 2 days before they come back to unlock it. So it just bypassed an extra headache when I avoided calling the gas company.
