I know I'm way to young to be saying this but I had a weird realization yesterday about remembering how I used to think college was so far away as a kid and something that it would take a lifetime to reach, now I'm graduating from college this semester. And the toys and shows I grew up with are something kids today don't even know about because they weren't alive then. It's so bizarre

Man, my dad has already had 2 or 3 procedures on his heart, and he isn't even 60 yet. Probably doesn't bode well for me down the line, even if I am about 100 pounds less than him.

David Byrne expressed it best, I think, with his "lifetime piling up" phrase. It really does feel like your life is an almost physical accumulation, layers upon layers of experience. You reach middle-age and you start to crack under that accumulated weight. They call it a "mid-life crisis" and most of us generic men-folk get through it by buying a Corvette or a Harley, and/or having an affair. Women nowadays apparently get lame tattoos, cosmetic work and/or have an affair. Aging is fucking terrific.
