Yeah a lot of time their deal of the day is just some video game I have no interest in, but sometimes they're awesome. About a month ago they had Luke's X-wing marked down to something ridiculous, like $28ish, I missed that one unfortunately. Also included in yesterdays one day only promotion: Snake Eyes helmet - $49 CC Helmet - $49 Ant Man Helmet - $35! And my local Gamestop had Count Dooku's light Saber for only $110 (originally $225!) The Dooku light saber was tempting, but I'm going to wait until I find a better one on sale. I'd prefer a Jedi light saber over a Sith.

I was in Ross on Saturday. Normally I'm in and out fast, but this time I was hanging for a bit while my wife tried on shoes. So, I was watching this guy, 100% sure he was a general reseller, not strictly a toy reseller. He was going around the store, and was clearly photographing the items, as they sit on the shelf. I'm fairly certain he was listing these items for sale, without even actually buying them first! (It's possible he was taking photos so he could research prices later on, maybe, but I don't think so). I thought it was just nuts. He wasn't shy about it at all. He was literally in the very front of the store, where they keep the perfumes, photographing bottle after bottle of perfume. It was just...odd.
Anyone ever seen someone do this before? Anyone come across a listing like this on eBay? (The item still on the shelf).

I come across listings like that literally all the time. There's plenty of eBay listings where the product is on the floor of the store sitting in front of the shipper box or where the pic is of the item hanging on the pegs/on the shelf.
here's an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/GI-JOE-Classified-Flint-Lady-Jaye-Sealed-Figure-Lot/154413317023?hash=item23f3c03b9f:g:HsYAAOSwOrJgdbO 9 That dude will feel dumb if he sells those before buying them, because when he goes back to the store, those will be gone. Quote:
I saw a guy doing that a couple weeks ago. Actually went up to him and just started asking questions. He has this Amazon app where you can go and scan the barcode on certain products and see how they are selling on Amazon and how much they are being priced for before he actually purchases them and resells them so he could make sure its worth the profit.
Yeah I was aware of that app/technique. This dude was straight up taking pictures though. Quote:
Could be. I've seen scalpers actively checking ebay prices for stuff in toy aisles before buying it. It could also be he's employed by one of those retail services/merchandising companies and was sent in to "audit" and capture real-time information. A lot of companies use them. I know Disney has employees who do that sort of stuff. You'll see them taking photos of blu-rays and other Disney products in stores.
That's cool to know. This cat was no Disney employee though.

Fucking cornballs man. I asked this guy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Hasbro....m46890.l49286 what made his bent, broken, all fucked up snake eyes worth almost $3000 And he told me go fuck my mother. Classy bro. I simply told him: although you can sell whatever you want at whatever you feel it’s worth, your a hoe. And I’ll make sure you get pimped accordingly.
