Okay, so I'm sitting up at 1 o'clock in the morning thinking about the colonization of Mars. So the planet Mars rotates around and sun slower than Earth, by nearly 2 years. So if you were born on Mars, you age slower than on Earth, by nearly 2 years. So then if you were 80 years old on Earth, you would be 40 years old on Mars. So here's my question: If you were born on Mars, would you be 40 years old and look like an 80 year old? Or would you look 40 since the conditions of the Earth do not have effect on you that would typically cause you age, therefore you would age differently on Mars since its further from the sun, so you don't have as much exposure, and other conditions. So then you would actually have lived 80 Earth years but look like you are 40?

I know you're not being serious, but I feel like playing along.
It's my understanding that cell division causes a shortening of the DNA strand over time. There is basically a protective "cap" on the end of the DNA strand that acts as a sacrificial buffer to prevent damage to the important information-carrying part of the DNA strand. Once it's used up, your cells won't replicate properly and you'll begin losing proper function. There is, therefore, a time limit to your life that is determined by the number of times your cells replicate. You'd have to sort that issue out to avoid basically "living to death." In terms of visible aging, there are some known genes for that. You would have to suppress those genes or the atmospheric and gravitational conditions of Mars would somehow have to do that for you. I'm not aware of any such relationship between the two, but it's possible. The one thing that is certain is this: with the gravity on Mars being only about 1/3rd that of Earth, women could run around topless all the time and still maintain perky breasts for decades.

Although I feel you know me too well and this would be a joke, but not this time. This was an actual conversation between me and my older son between midnight and 1am this morning. And when I went to bed, it stayed on my mind.
