Morning, everyone!
My Rolling Thunder should be getting here today so I went to the remnants of my Joe collection to collect a crew! I had to sell almost everything years ago to fund a move, but I didn't realize just how little was left. It was already Cobra heavy before the sale but now the only Joe I've got is the Shipwreck that came with Cobra Mountain. And yeah, Spy Troops is as old as any of it gets. Oh dear. :/ Any of you have recs for a (cheap) o-ring crew for the RT? I always just used whoever came with a vehicle or was on the box as I'm not into the figures so much, but I also know it'll irk me if I've got an inappropriate crew.

Appropriate just means "that dude is meant to be a driver, that dude knows how to operate a cannon, that dude should be the scout", that sort of thing. I think of the area behind the cockpit as a workstation where only one figure should be instead of three, and should probably be a techy person for doing active maintenance. I was looking and got overwhelmed by the choices (and prices!) so that's why I came here. I was hoping to have it fully manned before taking pics for y'all but I'm really vehicle focused and don't have the skillset for picking characters for it.

The consensus was Rain/Raine. Even got a couple PMs about it

Rainie? I would sprinkle a couple old school Joes in there with crew. Maybe, Breaker, Dusty and Bazooka. And I'd probably add Lifeline.

Lifeline?
Breaker, Doc, Rock N Roll, Flash and Steeler would be the dream crew. Mainframe, Lifeline, Roadblock, Bazooka and Crankcase would be the more budget friendly crew. I don;t have any o-rings either since I'm trying to complete my collection right now. I think I have Raptor and Windmill maybe a few others so you could make a Village People crew maybe haha. Armadillo would be a good choice, i'm not real familiar since i dont have him, but I just checked him out and pretty cool. Like ice.

Also Raine, you'll always be Al to me...or Allie...or maybe Llama.

The Llama pizza Orangeman is a rare find indeed.

I have to admit that I get kind of a perverse pleasure from having a 100% complete RT, except for Armadillo. Like, someone assigned an Armadillo tank as an escort, but the paperwork was misfiled and Armadillo the driver got sent there instead and just... nobody had the heart to tell him no. He's been around for years, nobody really likes him, but he got so excited when he found out he got RT duty that they're afraid he might do something harmful to himself if he finds out the truth.
ANYWAY. Budget is important, and since I need at least 10 Joes to fill the seats I'm not going to be too terribly picky. They don't have to be the best qualified characters, just appropriately skilled. I don't need filecards and if they're in a vehicle they don't need all their accessories either. I'm thinking I should just hold out for a parts lot and assemble them myself. Decent plan?
