So…we got the state budget deficit news last Friday, and this Friday, we’ve learned a little bit more in regards to the impact on education. For those who get to keep their jobs, we will be working much harder (increasing the number of students per class) for a lot less (upwards of a 25% cut).
I know it’s all relative, as we all have our own individual issues at work (or work loss) to deal with...but I feel all the more despondent when there’s no one for any of us to truly be mad at about it. It’s no one‘s fault…leaving no one to target with our frustrations. 😞 Without getting deep into politics, it’s death or job cuts/loss...everything in between is the unknown.

Accepting risk is a part of life. We do it everyday.

I do think some of these changes were coming either way, the Virus just sped it up. Self Checkouts were already here, but going forward will probably be ramped up a bunch. I was amazed at how many people were able to convert to working from home so quickly/easily. If that was the case, shouldn't they already have been working from home (to reduce traffic, save gas money, reduce pollution, etc) ? They had already begun to roll out sit down restaurants with no wait staff in Asia (using a combo of robots/machines, etc), wouldn't shock me if that sort of thing takes off here. I dunno, again, just thinking out loud.
