If Dukie would make his first dues payment we could get a new car.

No Barty that is not a normal thing. A 2 year old car shouldn’t have those issues. They need to find what’s draining all that.

I made a few calls. Everyone keeps saying there is a loose gasket or pan. I would assume they checked those. A faulty (or improperly installed) oil filter can also cause some leakage.

According to the Chevy mechanic the leak could be at the oil control rings. Generally the stuck oil control rings and the excessive oil can come from the pressure relief valve in the oil pan and it may be burning off at the intake manifold. And they say the only way they can confirm that is to take the engine apart and they want to charge $4000 just to do that. And they say that may not even be the problem.

And the few outside mechanics we took his car to are saying that the automobile manufacturers are making it more difficult for them to work on cars. Just like with my son's car, you can't buy any parts for his car at AutoZone, O'Reilly, or anyplace like that, only from the manufacturer and the dealership mechanic has to perform the work.

That is true. But... dealership mechanics aren’t what they used to be. Contact Chevrolet directly like not the dealer but the actual company. Tell them you are about to open up a can of whoop ass...and I’ll do more checking around.
