I see kids looking at the Transformers, and at the Star Wars figures and that does my heart good. For some reason I was hoping this thread would be about children actually being interested in GI Joes. Star Wars and Transformers have cartoons, commercials and big movies behind them while Joe hasn't had anything so far. I'm so glad that the movie is coming out to spur their interest...
oh yeah, Nevermind.

My (13) and my brother (11) LOVE Gi Joes!
I am also interested in the Marvel, DC and Star Wars figures. He also likes Bakugan.

This reminds me so much about Toy Story 2 movie. Everytime I watched that it can't help me not to remind about Scalpers.

Believe it or not (I'm walking on air!?) but I actually saw not too long ago two young boys getting Modern Joes. This was at TRU.
AND there was a little kid arguing with his mother about army-building! I actually heard her say "you have enough clonetroopers" and he was haggling with her offering to do different chores around the house. This was at Target on a different occasion. |

Transformers are not as cool as Joe.
You should have slapped him.

i was at target about a week ago, and i was looking at the back of a bumblebee figure (voyager or whatever... TF sizes are like starbucks to me)
and a kid comes around the corner and said to his, aunt? i guess? "TRANSFORMERS! here they are!" as i glanced up, he was reaching for the bumblebee in my hand! hahahaha! he was about 8 or 9 and should have known better but i just smiled and let go. his aunt apologized and told him "you dont just take things from people! give that back!" i laughed and said "oh no, its his now, i insist. i was just as excited about transformers when i was his age, and i still am. glad to see kids still playing with them." he smiled at me and said "thank you!" i shook his hand and said "no, thank YOU, sir!" stuff like that makes my day.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know there is yet hope for the future of action figures.
I saw an 8 year old kid in the toy isle yesterday at Target. Not only was he begging for another Transformer as apparently he already had several he was reading the boxes and telling his mom and dad about the two transformers in the movie that are brothers. I just stood back and watched smiling just letting him have his way. Sadly they did drag him off without buying him another one but it was good to see how much he was into them. I didn't want to intimidate him or anything so I just stood out of his way. It was a cool thing to see. |
